Overview

Whispers of the Fallen (Tabard) 2

Whispers of the Fallen's Tabard

Summary

Whispers of the Fallen was founded February 11, 2006 by Cartagia, a Night Elf Druid, who has maintained leadership ever since. As of October 2nd 2007, the guild has 115 unique members.

Whispers of the Fallen is a tighly-knit community of like-minded individuals who serve a purpose greater than themselves by virtue of their patience, kindness, and vision. The four virtues held in highest regard are Selflessness, Integrity, Wisdom, and Valor. These principles form the Code that guides the behavior and decisions of its membership and is held sacred by all.

The Fallen is generally classified as a Medium/Light Roleplaying guild based upon the nature of their communication and the guild's overall style and approach. While all of their face-to-face interactions (/say) are strictly in-character, their guild channel (/g) is a laid-back mix of both in- and out-of-character chatter. Communication within party chat (/p) and raid chat (/ra) is never expected to be in-character.

To facilitate VoIP communications for both guild members and their guests, the Fallen leases a 25-slot Ventrilo server. Invited guests are always welcome to connect to this server in order to participate in guild-hosted activities or just to hang around and chat.

Members enjoy each other's camaraderie while exploring every facet and dimension of the game together, including Raiding, Questing, Roleplaying, and PvP. Those among the Fallen take their friendships very seriously while maintaining a patient and friendly attitude towards guildmates and outsiders alike.

Ranks

The guild's rank structure establishes a chain of responsibility and demarcates a path of achievement, respect, and privilege. The following lists all of the ranks used within the guild, from highest to lowest, along with a brief description for each:

WotF Rank Elder Elder Leader of the Fallen
WotF Rank 5swords Luminary High Council member
WotF Rank 4swords Harbinger Senior Officer
WotF Rank 3swords Disciple Junior Officer
WotF Rank 2swords Acolyte Respected Member
WotF Rank 1sword Aspirant Beginning Member
WotF Rank Initiate Initiate Probationary Member

Alliance History

A few months after the guild's inception, Whispers of the Fallen formed a raiding alliance with Ashenvale Templars. Much of Molten Core was conquered by this alliance until its dissolution on August 21, 2006.

In late Summer 2006, the Fallen was honored to receive among its ranks a number of departed members from the former Undying Council guild. Their kindness, integrity, and spirit were invaluable to the family, and many of those members attained some of the most honored titles held within the guild.

Hail Stone forged an alliance with the Fallen on September 8, 2006.

On October 26, 2006 Vacuus Reformo united with Hail Stone and the Fallen to form a triumvirate alliance whereby all members would regularly teamed up to Raid, PvP, and assist one another. Following the introduction of The Burning Crusade, members of each guild began largely exploring the new content in separate directions.

Due to interpersonal issues, Hail Stone was invited to part from the alliance on March 13, 2007.

Circa July 2007, several Fallen members who were all military personnel serving in Korea at the time decided to split off and form Pacific Legion with the intention of better supporting their different raiding availablility and overall style. Two months later, on September 20, they formally allied with Whispers of the Fallen.

On March 3, 2008, the guild dissolved all its alliances in order to return focus onto its own path.

Recruitment

Whispers of the Fallen is considerably selective with its recruiting and focuses far more on an applicant's overall personality and integrity rather than his or her character's gear or skill level. To be eligible for membership, one must first either submit an application at the guild's website, or he/she may contact an officer (Disciple or above) directly to request sponsorship for membership.

Raiding

The Fallen promotes a fun and jovial atmosphere during raids while maintaining focus and direction (See: Raiding Guidelines). Many guests and friends have often been invited to join the Fallen for many of its raids.

Prior to the introduction of The Burning Crusade, the guild utilized a slightly modified Zero-sum (or Null-value) Dragon Kill Point system for loot distribution for all 20-man (or larger) raids.

Though Whispers of the Fallen has already served as an integral part of different teams that have fully cleared Karazhan, the guild is currently preparing a guild-exclusive team to raid endgame content.
