Raid Philosophy Edit
The number one goal of our raids is progression while keeping a low raiding schedule of 3 nights per week (Karazhan is no longer a scheduled raid, it will be a guild pick up group on off raid nights). To accomplish this, the most qualified person will get priority for raid spots. The order in which we fill raids is: Active Raider > Inactive Raider > Recruits > Friends & Family/Alts > anyone who didn't sign up with the Raid Scheduler.
If you have an inferior talent spec, flat out don't pay attention, a piss-poor attitude, have low attendance or inappropriate gear for your role you will most likely not receive a raid spot over someone who does not have those problems.
That being said, we play this game for fun but we do expect a high level of skill out of our members. If you aren't performing at the level you should be for where the guild is at, ask for help if you need it and work on improving.
Shock currently uses a Link to use system to let the officers know who is interested in the piece that dropped. After everyone has linked it will be ultimately up to the officers to decide who gets the item. We base our decision on who had the highest need according to a global loot list, upgrade value and if that person is an Active Raider. No, we don't use DKP. We feel this allows fair distribution of loot and maintains a focus on raid progression. During your recruitment period, you will typically not be eligible for loot unless none of our Active/Inactive Raiders need the item and it will be disenchanted. We'd rather see an item go to use first.
Raid Times Edit
- Sunday: 5p-10p Server Time
- Monday: 7p-10p Server Time
- Tuesday: Day off
- Wednesday: 7p-10p Server Time
- Thursday: Day off
- Friday: Day off
- Saturday: Day off
Guild Policies Edit
Alts and Friends & Family Edit
Alts and friends & family are allowed. They will not have raid attendance priority over your main and other full members (Active and Inactive Raiders) of the guild.
Do not expect to get a raid spot (or loot) if you only show up to raid once a month. To maintain the "Active Raider" standing in the guild you must attend 75% of raids over a 6 week period.
Applying to Other Guilds Edit
If you're applying to other guilds, remove yourself from Shock first.
Guild Bank Edit
The guild bank collects all gold, mats and pots from our raids. Full members can request items from the bank for completing set pieces that will help them help the guild in progression.
Recruitment Policies Edit
Your recruitment will begin with a /ginvite to Shock. We believe that in order to see how you fit in with our guild, you need to be a part of it and interact with the other members. We expect you to be online and actively participating with other guild members. This phase of recruitment can last anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks, depending on performance, attitude and attendance.
At the end of your recruitment, your status will be discussed by the officers and you will be either promoted to Active Raider or removed from the guild.
Applicant Information Edit
- You must be level 70.
