This article contains lore taken from Warcraft novels, novellas, or short stories.

Galadin is the younger twin brother of Giramar and is one of Rhonin and Vereesa's twin half-elf sons. They are both completely identical and share their father's red hair and mother's eyes.

History[]

At some point at the beginning of the war against the Lich King, Zendarin unsuccessfully tried to kidnap him and his brother, thinking that the offspring of a high elf and a human wizard would be powerful. In response his mother left to bring her cousin to justice and left the twins in the care of their father. When Rhonin left to find his wife the twins were presumably in the care of Jalia, who was like a grandmother and second mother to them.[1]

After the present dangers were defeated, Galadin, along with his family, witnessed the wedding of Malfurion Stormrage and Tyrande Whisperwind.[2]

Following the death of Rhonin and Jaina's appointment to lead the Kirin Tor, Galadin, his brother, and mother were present during the funeral service held in honor of the Kirin Tor's former leader.[3]

It was thinking of Galadin and his brother that prevented Vereesa from going through her initial plan of poisoning Garrosh and joining her sister in the Undercity. Vereesa, who hadn't spent as much time with her boys in recent years due to various events, left the trial and returned to Dalaran, vowing to never forsake her boys again. Honoring her promise Vereesa spent time with her children by playing with Dalaran fountain with them.[4]

When Vereesa was going to meet with her sisters Sylvanas and Alleria at Windrunner Spire, Giramar and Galadin expressed interest at the thought of being together as a family. However, Galadin began to argue with Giramar, accusing Sylvanas of being evil and now leading the people who killed their father. Giramar argued that you should not call other people evil or else they will show you how evil they can be. Vereesa broke up the fighting by reminding the twins that they were brothers and had to be each others' best ally.[5]

Trivia[]

  • His name may be a reference to Gil-Galad, the last high king of the elves in Middle-Earth from J.R.R. Tolkien's works.
  • Galadin was first depicted visually in Three Sisters, 13 years after his introduction in The Sundering.

Speculation[]

This article or section includes speculation, observations or opinions possibly supported by lore or by Blizzard officials. It should not be taken as representing official lore.

Since the twins were born some time after the establishment of Orgrimmar, they are around 15 - 17 years old in Dragonflight.
