Who do you believe Med'an's father is?

It has been hinted several times that the father is Medivh, but I suspect he could be Khadgar. Why?

World of Warcraft: Issue 23. First of all, they travel to Karazhan to find Med'an's father's shade. It seems pretty obvious it's going to be Medivh... or perhaps obviousness is wrongness?

Look the background of the cover. Shattrath City. Yeah, it's Shattrath, if you don't believe me check this picture.

So, what could this mean? They need more info and go ask Khadgar... or they go for Khadgar?

Really, I loved the Garona-Khadgar pair. They fit well with one another and, well, they could have played too much together and alone in that lonely tower xDDD.

What do you think?

Also, who are Khadgar's and Garona's fathers? My main family-tree speculation here is:

Maraad--+--? Aegwynn--+--Nielas Aran
        | |
        ?--+--Gul'dan - Medivh--+--?
           | |

This explains why Meryl, at the comic, sees Aegwynn's blood on Med'an.

What do you think, again?--Lon-ami (talk) 19:20, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

I bet on Maraad for Garona's, Medivh for Medan's and not Medivh for Kadghar's.

So you are saying Gul'dan is Garona's father and Medivh is Khadgar's father?--SWM2448 22:20, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Just about everything in The Last Guardian goes against any possibility of Medivh being related to Khadgar in any way besides a teacher... Gul'dan hasn't been reported to have any mate and he is too old to "match" Garona's generation and be his mate.
As for Medivh, when would he had the time to be the father of Khadgar? Nothing reported for his early years, years of sleep and then Sargeras in semi control. Except if you consider Cook to be Khadgar's mother, but the explanations of how&when would be obviouly to huge xD

Hey, it's just a theory Tongueout.
First of all, no orc reports having a draenei mate and, well, she could have been forced by Gul'dan.
I don't believe it's Medivh. It's too obvious for me and, well, I'd be disappointed so I got this theory after thinking a bit.
First of all, Khadgar being Medivh's son impossible? I find it as possible as Med'an being his son. And, well, no need to be a son, he could just be family. He could have had a girlfriend while young, who knows. The timeline got fucked like hell, so we're not sure when he entered the coma and when he awoke.
Also, there's Med'an's name, a clear reference to Medivh and Gul'dan, or Medivh Aran.
--Lon-ami (talk) 10:27, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

What if either Durotan or Draka turned out to be one of Garona's parents? Now that'd be a twist. Or Velen as the father. Velen and Draka? Twist! And then Medivh as Med'an's father. With the blood of both the Guardian and the Draenei Prophet, he'd be real powerful. Inv misc orb 04Xavius, the Satyr Lord 22:30, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

Wait... how can his father be even Medivh if Med'an is half orc and half DRAENEI? I mean Med'an's name certainly implies the father is Medivh, but still... IconSmall Dranosh Vraul Jawrip (talk · contr) () 19:28, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
Garona is half-orc half-draenei. About Med'an, we only know he's Garona's son. Anyway, ask before editing the poll, you removed all the old votes :(.--Lon-ami (talk) 12:16, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, didn't realize it'd to that.  :( And wouldn't Med'an then only be like... 1/4 Draenei?  :P Just sayin'. hehe IconSmall Dranosh Vraul Jawrip (talk · contr) () 22:27, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, sorta. See Talk:Med'an (be sure to read Baggins' comment) and make your brain hurt.--SWM2448 22:31, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

PS: Coobra's answer >> ALL
The one ring has made him insane, ladies and gentlemen. I'm thinking about starting to considerate half-races races in their own, or we'll have problems when issue 30 goes on sale and we have half-half-orcs mixed with half-half-draenei, with half-half-elves and half-half-aqir.--Lon-ami (talk) 09:57, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
If Med'an is really Medivh's son, and the recent reformulation of the Council of Tirifal, may Mad'an become the Next Guardian?? O.O Pudim17 (talk - contr) 13:32, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
Maybe Med'an will be the new guardian... DUN-DUN-DUNNN. --User:Gourra/Sig2 14:18, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
It's pretty obvious... What I wonder is: what will be the "surprise" factor? Previously, we all knew Lo'Gosh was Varian, but no one had freaking idea about the 2 Varians and Onyxia's weird spell. I guess what awaits us this time...
Anyway, I wouldn't like him to be his son. I always though Khadgar and Garona liked each other, and, well, Medivh doesn't make sense. Also, it's not like in Varian's case, were only we lore-nerds could decipher who he was. This time, it's obvious as hell, as Meryl depicts it at issue 19.--Lon-ami (talk) 14:27, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

My thoughts exactly. Khadgar and Garona had ample of enough time and their bound was very strong. MEdivh wouldn't make any sense what so ever despite Meryl's conclusions. Besides the Shattrah pic might be about Khadgar meeting his long lost son...or if it is indeed Medivh who is the father, his father's alst apprentice...-shudders- (talk)

"What the world needed most back in the day, turned out to be some dude from the kingdom of Stormwind, but how interesting if the guardian did not come from the human line?" said at Blizzcaste Episode 7.

So I guess that yes, Me'dan may be the new guardian. About the father I don't think it was Kadghar, my guess is Medivh, but I'd better wait for the comic to reveal the truth. Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 01:08, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

So, Maraad knew this! That is why he kidnapped Garona! Pudim17 (talk - contr) 12:29, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Isn't the previous Gardian required in order for the new one to get his powers?
Beside, hasn't Medivh stated and taught the world, that it no longer need Gardians?
IconSmall Hamuul Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 12:34, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
The actual Medivh, yes, but not the Old one. If not to have a new Guardian, why did they refromulated the council? Pudim17 (talk - contr) 12:55, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Seems pretty certain at this point that it's Medivh.  (Damn...I was hoping it was Maraad.  That would have explained the vestigial tendrils and "faceplate" beyond "skipped a generation.")

Well kiddies.....i heard it's Medivh after all who is the father in the latest comic issue, anyone can confirm that? Gorvar (talk) 08:26, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

I'm still on #19 atm, but i guessed her son was both the new Guardian and the father was Medivh the momment it was revealed she had one. What Metzen said in the Blizzcast was enough to convince me of that. I don't think any of the candidates for Garona's father are likely, and i doubt we'll find out, as it's probably not important. And it doesn't seem that possible for Khadgar to be Medivh's son.

I'm surprised the appearance of Med'an vs. Medivh isn't brought up more. I loosely reconcile this with Sargeras' presence in Medivh, his powers likely twisting the Half-Dranei heritage and bringing out more a more demonic appearance akin to the Man'ar and Tainted Orcs. --   05:37, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Try figuring it out for yourself. --—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bigstackstwo (talkcontr). 12:13, 6 July 2009

Confirmations (WoW Issue 21)

  • Maraad is Garona's uncle. His sister was kidnapped by Gul'dan for one of his warriors. Garona was born and he enslaved her.
  • Med'an is confirmed again of carrying Medivh's blood.

That's all from issue 21 Tongueout.--Lon-ami (talk) 20:10, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Well that's certainly made up for the lack of info in 20 i just got. ty :) --   20:18, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

anyone feeling like banging their heads at the desktop? Gorvar (talk) 20:48, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Why? Because you wasted all this time speculating about something that you would have found out in a month anyway?--SWM2448 21:11, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

IconSmall Draenei Female Farseer Loloteatalkcontrib 09:29, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
And? At least, I'm satisfied at knowing I was right suspecting Maraad was related to Garona, and that Gul'dan was related somehow, too Smiley. Now only the Medivh thing remains. It's still unclear for me, so I'd wait until I know more to believe it, but he's probably Med'an's father. I want a plot-twist, dammit xDDD.--Lon-ami (talk) 10:13, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
Don't count on it; the comic really hasn't had much in the way of those. (Except for the whole "split Varian" scenario, and Garona being Maraad's niece rather than his daughter like everyone seemed to be thinking...)
