I have seen some characters running around with ranks and i was wondering how to get one.

- To explain further for those not so inclined to look this up: The PvP titles were set up during vanilla (pre-BC) WoW, earned based on the amount of honor you gained during the week. Your rank would increase (or decrease) depending on your PvP activity in the weeks following; i.e. if you did less PvP than you did the previous week, it would affect your ranking, but if you did as much or more, I think your ranking would work its way up. I don't remember exactly.
- The system was discontinued, the highest rank you obtained frozen - some even reaching the top (Grand Marshal/High Warlord) and, even if they were "demoted" for lack of activity later on, they kept it - when Burning Crusade was released almost three years ago. You may notice these days, however, that there might be draenei and blood elves running around with honor titles, which were unobtainable when the two races were released - chalk that up to the recently-introduced faction change and race change systems. (For instance, my blood elf paladin, Ketiron, has the rank of Stone Guard, which is the Horde equivalent of Knight, held by my former human paladin, Saavedro, who I faction-changed last week.) If you want to know what they all are, the link DTZ gave you should give you an idea of what's what. So when people say "I got rank 6", "rank 10", etc. as a PvP rank, this is what they mean. Apparently, the ranks will be brought back for Cataclysm, with the new "rated battleground" system, but since Cataclysm is - at best estimate - the better part of eight months away, give or take, we won't know for sure until it hits the beta stage. --Joshmaul (talk) 09:34, December 25, 2009 (UTC)
