Fleshbeast

It is said that the sleep of reason produces monsters, that fantasy abandoned by sanity brings forth creatures of nightmare. For most, the horrors of their sleeping hours cannot follow them into the waking world; yet some are haunted by them even long after the veils of sleep have parted. The mindless fleshbeasts were brought into this world by Medivh, summoned from some unspeakable place beyond. Once, the wizard used the fleshbeasts in his clandestine experiments within the laboratories of Karazhan. Medivh is gone, but the slavering, hungering creatures of his twisted nightmares still remain, forever stalking the gloomy shadows of Karazhan.

Taken from the Burning Crusade Bestiary.

There is also a chance that in The War of the Ancients, Rhonin and Krasus encountered these same fleshbeasts during their trek to find the anomaly. This is believed because those beasts invaded Rhonin's dreams, and were said to have long sharp teeth much like the one in the design picture. Rhonin and Krasus escaped in time, and flew on. However, Krasus vowed to return to that island and to eliminate all the creatures. However, many consider the elements used in the book to describe the creature: "Human skull dipped in wax", "needle-sharp teeth", "red, soulless orbs for eyes", "long arms and legs", "clawed hands", "thin layer of skin over the chest" and the fact that the creature wore a regal coat, to be a picture-perfect description of a ghoul, and not a fleshbeast. There is still the issue of fleshbeasts having a connection to dreams, but from Knaak's description, the creaures encountered by Rhonin and Krasus are probably ghouls. It is also possible, that they met an Ooze.
