I would rather die a nightborne than live a single day as a Legion slave.

When Gul'dan appeared in Suramar, he gave the Nightborne a choice: bring down the barrier around Suramar, giving him access to the Nightwell and becoming allies of the Legion, or be destroyed. Thalyssra stated that demons won't keep their word. Thalyssra argued with Advisor Vandros, when Melandrus said that they can argue all night, but the decision lies with Elisande. Two days later, Elisande made her decision: it was allegiance with the Legion. Melandrus said that nightborne will never become the Legion's honored, but rather its fel-cursed slaves. He and Thalyssra formed a rebellion against Elisande and the Legion. The two of them made their way to Magistrix's palace while the rest of their band was caught by the guards. In that moment, Melandrus took his sword and stabbed Thalyssra, pushing her into the river below.[1]
