Eclipse is a row 1 Balance druid talent. Eclipse consists of two buff effects. The talent is heavily interlinked with a pair of their casted spells, [Wrath] and [Starfire].
Casting the same spell twice grants an Eclipse effect. It empowers any casts of the opposite paired spell for a short duration, as well as the spell damage type for the empowered spell.
Because of the mechanics of multi-school damage, any abilities with the astral damage type will get a damage bonus from either type of eclipse. Notable astral spells include both of the main Astral Power spenders, making either type of Eclipse a good time to use those spender abilities.
The two casts of the spell that activates Eclipse do not have to be immediately sequential. For example, it is theoretically possible to cast Wrath Starfall Wrath and still trigger a Lunar Eclipse from casting the Wrath twice. A small number appears on the action button for these spells to track the number of casts left until the Eclipse. This count is reset when an Eclipse starts.
Prior to patch 7.0.3, the Eclipse Bar was the secondary resource of Balance druids, requiring the generation of 100 Solar or Lunar energy to achieve the related buffs.
