The gloves, bracers and belts items are all [[Bind on Equip]] so they may also be found on the [[Auction House]] or often stored in Guild Banks. All other set pieces are [[Bind on Pickup]] -- so you'd best get into those dungeons to complete your set! However, since the release of [[Burning Crusade]], better items can be easily acquired through quests in [[Outlands]] starting at level 58, so few players continue to collect these sets.

Dungeon Set 1, also called Tier 0, is the first of the Class Sets. The Dungeon 1 sets are composed of rare quality items. The items drop in Blackrock Spire, Stratholme, and Scholomance.

Each set provides added bonuses when 2, 4, 6 or 8 pieces of the set are equipped together. Although none of the items are limited to a specific class (unlike the Tier 1 and above sets which can only be equipped by a specific class) generally most classes will attempt to gather their unofficial set before entering the raid dungeons. As long as a class can wear the type of armor (ie cloth, leather, mail or plate) they can equip any of the items.

Hybrid classes can sometimes find benefits in collecting a few pieces of another class's set, for example feral specced druids may benefit from the added agility of pieces in the Shadowcraft Armor, mixing sets however does limit the set bonuses achievable.

The gloves, bracers and belts items are all Bind on Equip so they may also be found on the Auction House or often stored in Guild Banks. All other set pieces are Bind on Pickup -- so you'd best get into those dungeons to complete your set! However, since the release of the Burning Crusade Expansion, better items can be easily acquired through quests in Outlands starting at level 58, so few players continue to collect these sets.

Many of the belt, gloves, and bracer pieces drop from various mobs in the listed instances, in addition to the specific bosses listed in the table.

As of Patch 1.10, these sets can be upgraded to Dungeon Set 2, however, the Dungeon Set 1 item must be traded in as part of the quest for the upgraded piece (breaking any set bonus, although since the set bonuses are the same, only in reverse, if you convert an even number of items at a time, you will not break bonuses).
