Overview

Ability Warrior WarCry

Demoralizing shout is a flat rate attack power reduction shout. It it the opposite of Ability warrior battleshout [Battle Shout], essentially.

Functionality

Demoralizing Shout is a 10 Rage ability that reduces attack power by 35-140 in a 10 yard radius. Demoralizing shout will pull non-hostile monsters and will put you into PvP mode if it hits nearby hostile players while in your own territory, so be careful with it.

Use

Talents

Ability warrior commandingshout [Booming Voice] (Increase range and duration)
Ability warrior warcry [Improved Demoralizing Shout] (Increase attack power reduction)

Usability in General and in End Game (High)

Lots of warrior seldom use this ability, since they don't know how strong this ability is. It can cut some 15% of the *melee* damage from the mob on the warrior. In "End Game Raids" this ability is Goddess! It is strongly advised that OTs in raid will apply it on the mobs/bosses that rely on heavy melee damage.

For example: Magmadar: Normal: 1867 - 2476 damage. W/ demo: 1512 - 2121 damage. (-16.3%)

Maexxna: Normal: 5491 - 7281 damage. With demo: 4448 - 6238 damage. (-16.3%)

note: the maximum damage reduction on AP (attack power) is 30%. So on those bosses, you should apply Demo shout and Peticon-beast Ability deathknight summongargoyle [Screech] by an hunter pet.

Tips and Tactics

Is usually useful while tanking, as you want to die slowly. Also brings rogues out of stealth in PvP if it hits them.

Obviously this skill should be used when fighting multiple mobs where its effects are multiplied. However it is even worth using against a single enemy, even one that is slightly inferior. The damage reduction is noticeable and it is cheap to apply. For solo grinding on melee mobs, many warriors start off with a charge followed by demoralizing shout.
