Forums: Village pump → How to handle Cataclysm updates?

(Sorry for all the questions, but I want to contribute without changing how you do things here.)

As I'm going through changed content, I've been checking these pages to see if anything needs updating. I went through the Stockade yesterday so I just checked the page for that. It seemed halfway updated to the new content. I updated the section that talked about the upcoming change and fixed the tense since it's now done. But I'm wondering if the reference is needed anymore since anyone can see that it's been changed.

I understand that keeping the history is important, but do you want to keep the Cataclysm so separate? Or, now that it's happened, change the pages so that it's current while keeping the history of the change?

I think a related question is do we need references for things anyone can see in-game?

So you could see what type of changes I would think are needed, I made an example of the changes at proposed Stockades page (in my user name space). The main differences are:

  • merged Cataclsym section into the main intro
  • removed old reference and reference section
  • removed Dextran Ward mention in notes
  • removed Defias mention in intro
  • uncommented out wool drop note, but updated
