I'll happily help with the switch from {{Books}} to {{Bookfooter}} if you'd like, just let me know when it's ready and any special instructions. Drazisil (t/c) 12:13, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
- You can switch them, the new one is fully operational.
- Replace {{Books}} by {{Bookfooter|<TYPE>}} when ever you find one, or check What Links to Template:Books for a full list.
- Have fun :)

- What about World of Warcraft: The Magazine and Short stories? Pretty much done otherwise. Drazisil (t/c) 03:08, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
- Added a Magazine and Short story sections. Short story only covers Online Short Story, because other Short Story are covered in the RPG section.

Your Sig
How'd you get your sig to appear like that? I put it in my sig, hit preview, then copy paste it into the message to add...is there a different way to do it? -- Astus the Graven One
- Just create a page under your userspace, such as User:Drazisil/Sig and then place that in your sig as {{subst:User:Drazisil/Sig}}
- Make sure the custom sig button is checked. Drazisil (t/c) 01:34, June 10, 2010 (UTC)

Image of Drakuru
Please note that both wowhead and thottbot are schizophrenic about the Image of Drakuru character IDs. Some IDs are listed as starting/ending more than one quest; some quests link to alternate IDs that don't link back to that character ID, etc. the 26500 ID seems to be the "most stable" of the set. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 20:55, June 16, 2010 (UTC)
- Well I used the position more than the quest, since we know the zones to go, I more or less guessed which ID is which image.

Torch catching guide
Two things...
- you might be well on your way to joining the "stop the frivolous splitting of quest pages" camp. Or at least seeing one of the reasons for it.
- There are factions that disagree with sub-pages on a philosophical basis. You might find it more convenient to rename Quest:Torch Catching/Guide to Catching Torches to something more like Guide to Catching Midsummer Juggling Torches.
--Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 18:20, June 28, 2010 (UTC)
- I agree some quests, should not be split, but we argue for long on this and even admins are not all on the same side.
- So, do as you like Ratchy! ;p
- Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 18:23, June 28, 2010 (UTC)
- Not sure I completely understand your comment about this Eirik Ratcatcher, but if you check the history, I think the original article name was closer to your suggestion (and I was a bit taken aback at the name change with no reason, especially as I was about to put in some links to it, lol). Was my original name for it a violation? Keyesc (talk) 18:26, June 28, 2010 (UTC)
- In fact I believed that adding it in quest articles would be more easy to find. (no violation at all)
- Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 18:31, June 28, 2010 (UTC)
- I created the article using the section headings as described in the WoWwiki Manual of Style. You changed them in a subsequent edit with no reason listed. Please advise. Keyesc (talk) 18:43, June 28, 2010 (UTC)
- Ah... The problem came that A'noob transcluded the entire article in Quest:Torch Catching (Alliance) and Quest:Torch Catching (Horde). The section headings do not match well with the headings on those pages. I think in this case that...
- The page should be reverted to the old name (or something like it)
- the quests should use {{main}} to point to said page, and include a one or two paragraph summary of the page.
- If A'noob desires, the contents of the "section+main" can be in the current Quest:xxxx/subpage name, in a Template:something name, completely inline, or something else. But using summary/Main avoids the whole header ranking issue, as well as keeping the quest pages from gratuitously including a level of detail that verges on incompatable with the page. I can do this if you guys want, or one of you can take the lead. I'm easy. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 21:54, June 28, 2010 (UTC)
- Ah... The problem came that A'noob transcluded the entire article in Quest:Torch Catching (Alliance) and Quest:Torch Catching (Horde). The section headings do not match well with the headings on those pages. I think in this case that...
- I am not yet familiar with {{main}}. Also, is there a guideline for when to transclude vs. just providing a link? Keyesc (talk) 03:22, June 29, 2010 (UTC)
- Wikipedia's Main template describes what I believe to be the standard for the convention of {{main}}. Guideline? Rule of thumb, really: "if what you're describing can stand as a page of its own, it probably should BE a page of its own." Size is a large factor in the choice. Beyond that it is a stylistic choice that we don't have formalized to my knowledge. My initial comment seems to have mutated into a larger discussion... --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 18:59, June 30, 2010 (UTC)

- Let's revert to "Guide to Torch blabla". But I believe a simple link offers less visibility.
- Your choice Keyesc.

Cataclysm release date
What book 1 do you mean!? The release date for this book is 09/27/10, it will hit stores on 10/19/10. Thus August should be only game release. Edit: I forgot to sign, sorry. --N'Nanz (talk) 14:39, July 5, 2010 (UTC)
- Your link gives the release/selling date for The Shattering, but not for Cataclysm.
- You are assuming that the game will be released in August, because the book will deal about the Cataclysm, but it is not certain, Rise of the Lich King came moments after WotLK. Catalsym could be released months after The Shattering.
- There is no "fact" in the date you give us (or did I miss a line in your link?)
- Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 14:47, July 5, 2010 (UTC)
- In the article it's written: "(...) An avid player of Blizzard’s MMORPG World of Warcraft, Golden has written several novels in that world (Arthas, Lord of the Clans, Rise of the Horde) with more in the works, including The Shattering: Prelude to Cataclysm, due out in August 2010 (...)"
- "The Shattering" is the prelude to "World of Warcraft: Cataclysm", the game. There is no book called "Cataclysm". Now we know the release/selling dates for "The Shattering" thus what's happening in August but the release of the game??? xD
- --N'Nanz (talk) 15:02, July 5, 2010 (UTC)
- "Cataclysm" was refering to the Game. I'll try to explain myself better.
- The dates you found are the dates of the book The Shattering, they have nothing do to with the game Cataclysm and should not be mentionned in the game's article
- The Shattering is a prelude to the game Cataclysm, so the prelude is to be released in August, but that does not give us a release date for the game Cataclysm.
- Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 15:09, July 5, 2010 (UTC)
- No, you're wrong.

- Release of "World of Warcraft: Cataclysm": August 2010 --N'Nanz (talk) 19:23, July 5, 2010 (UTC)
- I'm really sorry N'Nanz, I'm half-dumb and half-blind xD
- Where do you read?
- "Release of "World of Warcraft: Cataclysm": August 2010"
- Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 05:25, July 6, 2010 (UTC)
- The Shattering: Prelude to Cataclysm (ISBN-10: 1416550747), due out in August 2010
- Proper association is everything. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 20:00, July 6, 2010 (UTC)
- Ah! Someone can still understand me! I'm not finished! xD
- Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 05:22, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
- The Shattering: Prelude to Cataclysm, due out in October 2010 --N'Nanz (talk) 10:24, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
- The release date of the book varies with the source, but I am quasi sure that your link give a date for the book, not the game (which is IMO, very very very very very very very very very very unfinished for a launch August)

- I had no idea. Could you post the source behind this information? --Oponyxal / Arodeesa talk contr 16:08, July 19, 2010 (UTC)
- All is explained during the Worgen starting experience
- Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 16:23, July 19, 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, I've read through everything, and Arugal is only mentioned once, and not in any relations to the Scythe. I think this is merely a misinterpretation made by worldofraids, and since it's not a cannon source, it should be removed. I'm usually not in doubt about your edits, as you tend to be spot-on, but in this particular case, I think you're wrong. Without a proper source attached to the statements that "Arugal messed with the Scythe", it shouldn't be there.
- --Oponyxal / Arodeesa talk contr 17:48, July 19, 2010 (UTC)
- All is not written in WoWWiki yet, and the fact that Arugal messed with the Scythe seems to be the report of many beta testers. But you can choose to be careful, go on, we can always get it back later :)
- Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 17:50, July 19, 2010 (UTC)
- Without a proper source, it can be a massive misinterpretation. I've been watching the quest lines and dialogues, and can't find it anywhere. Might come in later, though, but as of yet, I prefer to be on the safe side. Also, Velinde is supposed to have held the Scythe at the time Arugal summoned the worgen. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out, though.
- --Oponyxal / Arodeesa talk contr 17:59, July 19, 2010 (UTC)
It is still possible that people pointing out holes in lore may cause Blizzard to alter quest information (etc). I would definitely put "changes re Scythe of Elune found in the Worgen starting experience" in the category of "not confirmed". I am also hoping that we preserve any "pre-retcon" lore changes. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 19:31, July 19, 2010 (UTC)

Reverted template edits
The reason we added c-inline to templates/template heads is because the game isn't out yet and because some zones are undergoing massive changes, and not because we felt it needed distinguishing otherwise.

My comment on Shadowmourne
Hey, you removed my note on the Shadowmourne page about him accidentally deleting his weapon because "my source was myself".
I was asked by my guild to make the edit because I was one of the few that already had a wowwiki account, and when you added that I needed citation, we as a guild emailed sites such as wow.com and mmochampion with screenshots and the like, trying to get them to post something we could link as a source.
The only other thing we could think of was a post on our forums talking about the incident. Apologies that I couldn't get the officer who made the deletion to make the post himself, but he's a busy guy. Was the problem with the source that he hadn't commented on the thread himself? I'm just trying to understand how I can get the post reinstated, we thought it was pretty hilarious at his expense, and we didn't think anyone else in the world had ever done this particular stupid thing, making it a pretty big deal in our eyes :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fiamma29 (talk · contr).
- Sure that is an event to note, but the lack of source makes it hard to keep. Not that I do not believe it really happen, but except your own word, there is no article on mmo or wow.com (can't believe they did not posted about this), no screen or anything else.

Creating articles
I'm just going to say this once: do NOT create articles that just say "X is a subzone of Y", if you're going to create it then provide an image or something. You're not supposed to make an article just to remove a broken link. Avatar
Hey, your avatar (on Monaco and other Wikia skins) is broken. Any idea what might have caused this? --Pcj (T •C ) 16:13, August 26, 2010 (UTC)

Dustwallow Marsh
What is your reason for this change? --g0urra[T҂C] 14:11, August 29, 2010 (UTC)
- I guess I thought that subzones physically inside of another subzone could be written like I did (do I even make myself clear?).
- For example Embestrife Den and Onyxia's Lair are in Wyrmbog.
- I would tend to do it to all zones, if you agree thoses changes. If not, I will only change it for the town/capital/dugeon subzones.
- Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 14:36, August 29, 2010 (UTC)
I was thinking more it would apply to cities, but it may have uses outside those. --g0urra[T҂C] 07:19, August 30, 2010 (UTC)
Gabrirt reverts
May I ask why you reverted his edits? They seem to be for no bad intentions - the only difference they make is that they have tooltips. --g0urra[T҂C] 07:20, August 30, 2010 (UTC)
- Because they were all reverted by Coobra in the first place
- Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 07:26, August 30, 2010 (UTC)
- So why are they linked that way in the first place? This and this edit (granted, linking them again in the conversation may seem unnecessary) were to add tooltips to links that already existed. If you're going to remove unnecessary number of links then remove those that were there in the first place, not revert someone who only had good intentions. I'd also like to point out WW:AGF which I find relevant in this case. --g0urra[T҂C] 07:56, August 30, 2010 (UTC)
Block of DanDober
3 months is simply an unacceptable time period for a block to a user with a) no warnings, b) not obvious vandalism, and c) without email or talk page editing enabled. --Sky (t · c) 18:59, August 30, 2010 (UTC)
- I believe this and that are "obvious vandalism".
- Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 19:17, August 30, 2010 (UTC)
- The former is obvious page blanking, but that does not imply vandalism. This is why you leave a warning. The second could simply have been the user removing the rest of his blanking; he might not know how to use the history function. Neither are obvious vandalism. --Sky (t · c) 19:23, August 30, 2010 (UTC)
- Seems obvious to me, too; however, three months does seem a bit excessive. —EGingell (T|C|F) Treader of Cenarion Circle 19:59, August 30, 2010 (UTC)
- I agree completely with the consequences for such actions. Three months seem fine. --Oponyxal / Arodeesa talk contr 18:17, September 6, 2010 (UTC)
Lich King
Really sorry about any bad changes I made with the Lich King page and the relationship thing. I just REALLY enjoy the lore and thought that it wwould be a bit more interesting to just put down the relationships he head with the people he met in the story. Thanks for the edit:) and once again really sorry if I messed up the page.

Hammer of the Righteous
As it stands atm, it seems Hammer of the Righteous will now damage all targets, as opposed to the hitting 3/4 targets. Shall I add something to the page like what it will be like in Cataclysm, or shall I wait until the beta closes so that it's definite? Epsi-spoon (talk) 21:42, September 8, 2010 (UTC)
Cairne Bloodhoof
What you mean Source? some kind of clue? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Imisklaria (talk · contr).

Cataclysm Raid boss pages
I thought Al'Akir's page looked prettier with the quotes to label the phases, alas.
I remember you fixing boss page edits I've made since Naxxramas 2.0 I suppose I shouldn't be surprised!

- We just like to keep all quotes together, that's all. (Sssss/Slithered) 05:38, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
- Like He Who Must Not Be Named said, keeping quotes together and appart from the abilities or strategy look a bit clearer. (imo?)

Hardened Elementium Bar versus Enchanted Elementium Bar
I noticed you deleted the page on [Hardened Elementium Bar] and moved the contents to the [Enchanted Elementium Bar] page. I wanted to point out that as of right now on live, it's still called "Hardened Elementium Bar." It won't get changed to Enchanted Elementium Bar (a better name imo) until either 4.0.3 or 4.0.3a. I wasn't sure how it would be best to restore the page though. Should the enchanted elementium redirect to hardened elementium, or should hardened elementium redirect to a page named after an item that doesn't currently exist on the live realm? Either way, Hardened Elementium shouldn't be deleted entirely. Dr. Cheis (talk) 19:33, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, we'll leave a redirect from Hardened to Enchanted until the Beta is Live.
- Thanks for pointing that out.

May I ask why you decided to replaced {{Dungeons}} with {{Instancefooter}}? Was there any reason to, especially after I cleaned it up? --g0urra[T҂C] 16:30, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
- Well that remained a big template even after your draft.
- So I went ahead and rushed toward Lon-ami suggestion of an Instancefooter ala Bookfooter.
- Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 16:32, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
- Sure I see the categorization, but that still made something "extra-large"
- Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 16:37, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
- I hope you are joking about size, else I would say you need my blind-glasses.
- Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 16:41, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
- It occurs to me that the reverse argument is true too. You would make a mammoth template to have more accessibility?

Sir Zeliek

Disagreement on the Lore here. Can you hop over and make a decision on it?
http://www.wowpedia.org/Commander_Eligor_Dawnbringer_%28Wintergarde%29
The most powerful Death Knights within Naxxramas are the four horsemen. They represent the pinnacle of Kel'Thuzad's guard. The first, Thane Korth'azz, holds the power of flame. The next, Lady Blaumeux, calls forth the power of shadows, drawing the souls of the living into the voracious embrace. Sir Zeliek, a paladin in life, so strong in his faith, that even in undeath, the power of the light still heeds his call, smiting his foes in battle. The final Death Knight, Lord Mograine, was the finest warrior that the Death Knights had ever seen. However, after the events in Azeroth, he vanished without a trace. Kel'Thuzad has appointed Baron Rivendare in his place.
Just to provide the info I was using to call him a Death Knight and not an undead Paladin.
Basically he is stated in game as a Death Knight that can use the Holy Light due to his faith in life. I don't think that qualifies him as an undead Paladin via subjective reasoning.

Cataclysm Raid loot
Now that both 10-man and 25-man raids drops the same items, shouldn't we just separate loot in normal and heroic? like at the Bastion of Twilight loot page. GVHB (talk) 21:13, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

- Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 08:40, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- I personnaly was not about to do it :)
- I spam auto-create, but they go under Stubs so we know they need be enhanced.
- And adminship does not mean I am bound to do things perfectly in their smallest details.
- Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 08:46, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- I was actually referring to the power of the auto-create tool, not adminship. But okay, I guess it will wait. --Bellocois (talk) 08:52, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- Oooh my dear, why didn't you say it at loud! Everyone can do it!
- Go under Preferences, Gadgets, Labs and check the two functionalities: generate item pages and generate quest pages.
- On a new article, click the drop down menu, then Create item tooltip, then Ok.
- But beware of heroic item! The bot will create the heroic item by default, so you will have to give it the Normal item ID to create it.
- Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 08:58, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- I know how to use it. :-) I was suggesting you copy the patch data and template with the quest chain and paste them into the newly created pages manually so as to prevent http://www.wowpedia.org/index.php?title=Quest:Students_of_Krastinov&oldid=2574723 from happening, that's all. --Bellocois (talk) 09:02, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- As you can see my poor cerebral capacities (can't even read a line properly) makes me useless outside of boting xD

Creating quest pages
If you're just going to create quest pages and not correct anything in the article, then don't create them at all. There's glaring errors on the pages you've created, so start doing the quest pages properly. --g0urra[T҂C] 14:14, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
Question
A'noob please tell me, why do you remove a side not in Kael'thas article, which actually causes no harm, but you use flavour text from an ancient patch (1.5) to support lore that does not exist (Archbishop Benedictus coup in Stormwind)~. Encaitar 19:21, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
- Merely a setback was created to remove the side note.
