Image of Echo of Jaina
Race Human
Level 87 Boss
Location Azure Dragonshrin, Dragonblight

Echo of Jaina is a boss to appear in the End Time instance. Before making the shade of Jaina possible, players will need to find 16 splinters of her broken staff scattered across the Azure Dragonshrine as well as battling her time-twisted allies.

Background

The tormented fragment of Jaina Proudmoore has been split and infused within the shattered pieces of her staff. To restore balance to the timeways, this echo must be defeated. However, the devastating magical power possessed by the once-proud ruler of Theramore is hardly lost to her time-havocked spectre. In this future Azeroth, she is only divided, and waiting...[1]

Abilities

  • Blink — The Echo of Jaina teleports to a nearby location.
  • Flarecore — The Echo of Jaina hurls a growing Flarecore ember at the ground near an enemy. The ember explodes if touched, inflicting 5000 - 50000 Fire damage to enemies within 5 yds. If not exploded within 10 sec., the ember detonates, inflicting 94500 Fire damage to all enemies.
  • Frost Blades — The Echo of Jaina conjures three blades of ice and sends them flying forward. Enemies that collide with the blades are encased in a block of ice, stunning them for 5 sec.
  • Frostbolt Volley — The Echo of Jaina inflicts 18000 Frost damage to nearby enemies within 65 yards and reduces their movement speed by 30% for 4 sec.
  • Pyroblast — The Echo of Jaina inflicts 45000 Fire damage to her current target and an additional 3000 Fire damage every 3 sec. for 12 sec.

Strategy

Before battling Jaina herself, your party must collect the 16 pieces of her shattered staff around the shrine, once this objective is completed the Echo of Jaina will become available to fight. Note that not all patrolling groups must be cleared, but those near Jaina should be, to prevent accidental pulls.

Your Tank who should be keeping Jaina on him/her will be constantly assaulted by her Pyroblasts and melee attacks. After a few seconds she will Blink a few feet away then cast Frostblades; everyone must watch out for these blades as they move together in a cone from wherever Jaina casts these from (which is usually where the DPS and Tank are).

Immediately after casting Frostblades Jaina will begin bombarding the entire group with 3 consecutive casts of Frostbolt Volley, each of which can to be interrupted. It is advisable to plan an interrupt rotation among those who can.

Periodically throughout the entire fight Jaina will cast Flarecore, an orb that will land on the ground in a random location. Whoever is closest to the Flarecore should run to it, taking moderate damage when it explodes on contact. If a player fails to detonate the core, it will continue to grow until it explodes for heavy group damage. Note that the Flarecores do small-radius AoE damage when detonated, so that only the player stomping the core should be near it.
