An acronym is an abbreviation of a name or phrase using only some letters from each word in the name or phrase. Most acronyms use the first letter of each word, but not all. For more complete definitions of acronyms, see Acronym at wikipedia.org or Acronym at Dictionary.com.

• PvE - Player vs Environment

Although not listed as separate articles, many players use acronyms for Town and City names. Some examples:

Alliance	Horde
IF - Ironforge	TB - Thunder Bluff
SW - Stormwind	XR - Crossroads
MH - Menethil Harbor	RH - Razorhill
SS - Southshore	TM - Tarren Mill

Also, most player use acronyms for regions, but they are usually less commonly used.
