The Prison of the Universe was heavily armed.
The Prison of the Universe was a prison somewhere in the Warcraft Universe where the most dangerous criminals in the Universe were kept in the official 
[Blizzard] scenario map for Warcraft III called "Blizzard's Tower Defense". The prison was guarded by three wardens. The prisoners broke out of their cells but were stopped by the wardens, saving the universe in the process.
The Prison of the Universe kept prisoners in individual cells.
Note that most of the lore appearing in Blizzard's bonus maps isn't necessarily considered to be part of the official Warcraft lore.
