Black Diamond is a gem that drops from mobs in BRD. There are three profession plans and recipes that need it: the Mongoose Boots (uncommon), the Dark Rune Helm (rare), and Enchant Cloak - Subtlety (epic). Other than that it is also an objective of a few related Quests, but what the diamond is most often used for, is for several Librams.
