|The subject of this article was removed from World of Warcraft in patch 4.0.1.
Anesthetic Poison was a poison that Rogues could buy in two ranks. Every time the Rogue hit with the poisoned weapon, there was a 50% chance of the victim taking damage and being dispelled of one Enrage effect. In addition, its poison damage caused no additional threat, so a Rogue could use it in lieu of other poisons to lower their threat (although this was usually ineffective). Unlike other damaging poisons, Anesthetic Poison did not scale with attack power.
In Patch 4.0.1 the ability to dispel Enrage effects was built into and this poison was removed. You can still buy it from Jeeves, though it doesn't work and will disappear from your bags upon logging out.
Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Removed.
Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14): Anesthetic Poison now also dispels one Enrage effect on the target.
Patch 2.1.0 (2007-05-22): Corrected a typo in the tooltip of Anesthetic Poison in regards to the number of charge applied.
