Forums: Village pump → New forums and linking

I wanted to know how we can update all the Blizzard posters with the new forums. Also, there has been a massive update in what Blizz posters are called, etc. Please advise.

Feel free to start updating at Blizzard forum posters. Maybe you can keep a list here in this forum post of individual people pages that need to be updated after that. -- Fandyllic (talk · contribs) 12:15 AM PST 19 Nov 2010

I should also add - the current way that Wowpedia has Blue posters listed is their old ID number on the old forums. Now, the URL is different. Is there going to be an overhaul in the coding so that we just need to insert their new forum ID so it links to their posts in the new forums? As of right now, I've been renaming things, but until the aforementioned gets changed/reprogrammed/etc. I can't fully update everyone.--Eiorwryn (talk) 09:51, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

I've got {{bfp2}} working for now. It doesn't take an id, as thats not how the forum works anymore. Username IS case sensitive - ie datth vs Datth. Ressy (talk) 16:30, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

Yours is better. Add in another tag for Blizz icons (because not all Blizz posters have their own icon), and we'll use yours instead. Ressy (talk) 16:42, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

Added some more coding to yours as apparently player & MVP links are Name@Server vs Name for Blizzard posters. Blizz should have stuck with poster id. Would have been easier IMO. Ressy (talk) 19:11, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

The first link is linking to the user's posts, the 2nd is a link to battle.net forums. That should probably be removed. Ressy (talk) 20:15, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

When all of the forum links are converted to Battle.net, the 2nd link will be removed. The 2nd link is to indicate that the 1st link is to battle.net. -- Fandyllic (talk · contribs) 2:14 PM PST 19 Nov 2010
