WindSerpent

A brightly-colored, winged serpent that sports a feathered head. Wind serpents are aggressive and use their whiplike tails, thunder breath, and needle fangs to attack their foes. They're found in The Barrens, the Wailing Caverns, Thousand Needles,Dustwallow Marsh, Feralas, Zul'Gurub, and the Sunken Temple. Wind Serpents seem to have a connection with Hakkar the Soulflayer.

As A Hunter Pet

  • Has high damage and low to medium armor and HP.
  • Eats Cheese, Fish, and Bread.
  • Can learn Ability physical taunt [Growl], Spell shadow burningspirit [Dive], Ability druid cower [Cower], Ability druid ferociousbite [Bite], and their special skill, Spell nature lightning [Lightning Breath]. Lightning Breath is capable of dealing a decent amount of ranged nature damage. Unless fighting mobs with very low armor or innate nature resistance, a Wind Serpent will have the highest DPS of any pet.
  • Despite gaining a unique skill and having an easy diet, Wind Serpents are not a common pet. However, their numbers are increasing, due to that with new pet scaling system, a Wind Serpent's Lighting Breath will increase in power as its master's gear becomes stronger.
  • Makes an excellent pet for raids. The high base DPS, eating summoned bread, and the ability to do bursts of damage from Lightning Breath and return to you for safety, make for a good raid choice unless you are fighting mobs with high nature resistance.
  • A large number of Wind Serpents suffer from "caster stats" if you tame them as a pet: their stats useful to a pet (strength, agility, armor, stamina) are lower and their useless stats (intellect, spirit) will be higher, making them weaker than a normal Wind Serpent that level. It is advised not to use those ones as a pet, as you can use other Wind Serpents with the same skin without the same side-effect. Wind Serpents suffering from this effect are: Azzere the Skyblade, Thunderhawk Hatchling, Thunderhawk Cloudscraper, Greater Thunderhawk, Hakkari Sapper, Cloud Serpent, Elder Cloud Serpent, and Hakkari Frostwing.
