When Dranosh Saurfang was released from undeath on Icecrown Citadel, his father, High Overlord Varok Saurfang, mourned his tragic death. The miraculous substance that is Saurfang's tears, however, were blown away by the icy winds of Northrend and actually fell to the ocean. These little droplets found their way to the naga-infested depths of Vashj'ir and, eventually to the digestive systems of a tiny school of fish living there. These fish are now called the Whale Sharks.
