Frost Presence is the Death Knight tanking Presence available at level 57. It increases total stamina by 8%, armor contribution from cloth, leather, mail, and plate items by 60%, and reduces all damage taken by 8%. The increase of 60% armor contribution does not apply to any bonus armor above the standard armor value for items of their type and item level (green text), nor does it apply to armor granted by rings, amulets or trinkets, or armor gained from agility.
This presence increases all threat generated by all damage or healing done by the Death Knight by 107.35%, making this a tanking presence. Note that since [Unholy Presence] has a built-in 20% threat reduction, the actual increase in threat while in Frost (and Blood) Presence is significantly higher. A Death Knight's attacks will generate 160% more threat while in Frost Presence compared to Unholy Presence. Most damage dealers have similar passive threat reductions, meaning that they have to do significantly more than twice as much damage as a tanking Death Knight to pull aggro.
Improvements

Cataclysm
In Cataclysm, Frost presence will replace [Blood Presence] as a dps presence as the blood tree is being redesigned for tanking. Frost presence instead will "Strengthens the Death Knight with the presence of Frost, increasing damage by 10% and increasing Runic Power generation by 10%.", with [Improved Frost Presence] changing to read "While in Blood Presence or Unholy Presence, you retain 2/4% increased runic power generation from Frost Presence, and your bonus damage while in Frost Presence is increased by an additional 2/4%."
Patch changes

- Patch 3.3.0 (2009-12-08): The animation for activating this presence will no longer also have the animation for Blood Presence played at the same time.
- Patch 3.2.2 (2009-09-22): Damage reduction changed to 8%, up from 5%
- Patch 3.2.0 (2009-08-04): 10% bonus health reduced to 6% bonus stamina.
- Patch 3.1.3 (2009-06-02): Armor bonus is now 60% down from 80%.
- Patch 3.0.8 (2009-01-20): The bonus armor has been increased from 60 to 80% and magic damage reduction increased from 5 to 15%.
