Warlock Project[]

Great job on those spells, so far! Thanks for the help. --DuTempete talk|contr 23:18, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Nice job on the Warlock Attributes section. Reads much better now. Onorvele (talk) 22:40, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Third person and quest chain articles[]

I've been taking the approach that the quest chain descriptions are, effectively, prose. I've been using "you, the protagonist" simply because for me it reads better. I'm interested in your input, though. Recent example: The Missing Diplomat quest chain. --Eirik Ratcatcher 22:51, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Makes sense to me too. I'll elaborate elsewhere. -- Harveydrone ( talk | work ) 21:39, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Field Duty[]

I have altered the Vote description of Field Duty to better reflect what I intended. Unsure of protocol in this situation, in lieu of wiping the voting box, I am asking each current voter to consider whether his/her vote reflects the new description. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 22:55, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Stacks with Spynoculars[]

Eternal belt buckle stacks. The Waist enchantment category currently lists Eternal buckle, spynoculars, and personal EMP generator. Could you verify if Spynoculars and EMP stack? If they don't, I think that the buckle is yet another class of augment/imbue/enchant-like thing. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 19:15, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

You'll be one of us, soon.[]

"World of Warcraft Permanent Emngineering Waist Augment abilities".

Too late for you, my friend! You'll take your "World of Warcraft Overly Long Category Name Fox In Socks Sir" category, and like it! :) I think we're probably stuck with the "W.o.W." portion of the category. I think we're currently - probably - spared either "waist" or "engineering" from your suggestion. ... But then you have to add the OTHER of those two words in the second category the same item is in. Nothing that a Walker (Johnny Walker) couldn't help ya with. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 22:13, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

If the Fitz shoos...[]

Could you expand on how Shado "Fitz" Farstrider maps to FitzChivalry Farseer? It seems a stretch to link them based on just the name "Fitz". I've not read the Robin Hobb books in question, so I represent the "uninformed masses"... :) --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 16:59, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

It's also the similarity of "Farseer" and "Farstrider", "Shado" and "Chade", plus the use of "Fitz" as a nickname (as opposed to a regular given name). And, though I didn't notice this before, possibly the fact that Shado wears a wolf-head helm, and Fitz in the book had a close connection with a wolf. I'll add some of this to that list. -- Harveydrone 22:55, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

"Azeroth" / "Classic" / EK & K[]

According to the page Azeroth:

Throughout the Warcraft Universe sources the term Azeroth is used to describe several things:

  1. ^ Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition manual, p.36 Quote:Thus, in the year 583, the first of Medivh’s unnatural Portals was opened between the world of Azeroth and the red world of the Orcs.
  2. ^ a b World of Warcraft manual, p. 104
  3. ^ Warcraft: Orcs & Humans. Blizzard Entertainment.
  4. ^ Alliance Player's Guide, p. 158, 161
  5. ^ Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition manual, p.32 Quote:This dark perversion of the land is steadily spreading across the continent of Azeroth and threatens to consume the entire world.
  6. ^ Lands of Conflict, p. 17 Quote:...the Arathi assured them the land would always belong to all peoples and named the land as a whole in homage to their ancient ancestors: Azeroth.
Together, the humans constructed the fortress city of Strom...
  7. ^ Lands of Conflict, p. 17 Quote:The envoy explained that long after the destruction wrought by the Maelstrom, some of the survivors had made their way to northern Azeroth and established a new kingdom, called Quel’Thalas, and a new source of magical power, called the Sunwell.
  8. ^ World of Warcraft manual, p.106 Quote:There are no flight paths across the ocean linking Kalimdor and Azeroth.
  9. ^ Blizzard Entertainment Inc.. World F.A.Q. (English). Blizzard Entertainment Inc.. Retrieved on 2009-07-27. “Currently, players can explore the lands of Azeroth, Kalimdor, and Outland.”
  10. ^ A [40] Dark Council Quote:The Argus Wake might run deep through the continent of Azeroth.
  11. ^ World of Warcraft: The Roleplaying Game, p.362 Quote:On both Kalimdor and Azeroth, war and time have left much of the land in ruins, and civilization is often limited to the land enclosed inside city walls.
  12. ^ Dark Factions, p. 11 Quote:but they exist on coastlines throughout the world — Azeroth, Kalimdor, and Northrend all boast tribes of murlocs.

According to the 1st definition - Azeroth is correct to refer to the whole world pre Burning Crusades -- (M o r p hJames E. Rooks, Jr. aka: Morph

I would agree that technically referring to Eastern Kingdoms and and Kalimdor is wrong (although I haven't read the books). But in context, I think everyone knows that Azeroth is slang for 'classic wow.' I find that changing it to classic just makes it more confusing, especially for the people who didn't know about wow before Burning Crusade. Just my 2 cents. /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 10:08 PM, 7 Aug 2009 (EDT)
Technically the first deffinition doesn't say that Northrend isn't included. The actual quote is even given in that same article:
Throughout this manual and in the game itself, you will find the name Azeroth used in two different contexts. Azeroth is both the name of the world of Warcraft, and the name of one of the three continents that comprise the Eastern Kingdoms, the landmass opposite of Kalimdor on the world map. The other two continents of the Eastern Kingdoms are Loch Modan in the center and Lordaeron in the north. Sometimes you will see reference to Azeroth the world, and other times you will see reference to Azeroth the continent.
It is not correct to say that Azeroth is used to refer the playable part of pre-Burning Crusade using that as a source, as it doesn't say what you are saying. Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 03:20, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
PD: I removed Azeroth (domain) as I have interpreted it wrong but thanks to Dark T Zeratul I realized what that acutally means. Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 03:26, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
Sounds like a forum topic to me. Hopefully will get to that soon. -- Harveydrone 00:14, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
