The WoW Forums Edit
Punchline was known for closely bordering the line of the rules on the US WoW forums. He frequently received three day/week long suspensions without ever getting a permanent ban by knowing how to stretch the rules of the forum. While he trolled an awful lot, he also made meaningful threads/posts sometimes.
Near the end, Punchline was seen posting quite a bit on the US WoW Off-Topic forum. This was unlike him because the bulk of his posts came from the US WoW General forum.
At 8:45 PM EDT, on September 3rd, 2007, Punchline received a one week suspension and a final warning for "Posting obscene/vulgar or inappropriate language".
At 3:26 PM EDT, on September 14th, 2007, Punchline finally received a permanent ban from the World of Warcraft forums for "Post obscene/vulgar or inappropriate language."
The Ban Edit
On September 14th, 2007, a level 14 Tauren Warrior by the name of Konig began a thread entitled "Lady Vaj" - an obvious play on the word "Vashj". (Konig was a forum alt of Punchline's.) The contents of this post were, "Lady Vaj has finally let me into her cavern, but I'm not able to down her with the power of my sword. I keep wiping."
The thread quickly gained "popularity" and got to an estimated six or seven pages before it was deleted.
At 3:26 PM EDT, on September 14th, 2007, Punchline finally received a permanent ban from the World of Warcraft forums for "Posting obscene/vulgar or inappropriate language."
To this day, the thread deletion and banning remain controversial because of the softness of the "obscene/vulgar language".
World of Blogcraft Edit
Punchline currently runs a World of Warcraft blog that can be found in his WoW US forum signature. It's called World of Blogcraft, and it delivers quality WoW news.
