Baron Jespen Hendell is one of the few non-human members of the Scarlet Crusade. A particularly zealous and xenophobic member of the organisation, he has gone so far as to believe that the plague has spread beyond the Dark Portal.

Originally a wealthy priest dwelling within the Temple of Karabor before it was corrupted by Gul'dan and the Shadow Council, the Baron used his social status within Draenic culture to spread the word of the light to other sentient races within Draenor. The ensuing chaos that took place when the temple was raided deeply affected the formerly kind-hearted cleric as the seeds of his current beliefs were planted with a deep hatred of the Orcish Horde. This would be fueled over time as he managed to escape his sanctuary and fled to the structure known as the Exodar.

Upon crashing in the Azuremyst Isles Baron Jespen's first goal was to establish links with the intelligent races of Azeroth. Unfortunately for him and many Alliance friendly races one of the first organisations that he encountered was the Scarlet Crusade. Drawn in to their preachings due to his lack of knowledge regarding the new world he was left on he was welcomed amongst their ranks with open arms, mostly since the Crusade believed that the plague hadn't infected those on board the Exodar. Under the orders of Saidan Dathrohan Baron Jespen was sent to use his diplomatic skills to spread the word of the Crusade across the Alliance, slaying any beings that stood in his path.

Whilst dwelling in Stormwind, resting from a long journey across the Eastern Kingdoms, he encountered the Night Elf Vaekor, a high ranking member of the guild Circulus Amicorum. The good natured elf seemed very similar in personality to the Baron prior to the raid upon the Temple of Karabor and calmed Jespen significantly. After many encounters in combat against numerous foes, Jespen was accepted into Circulus Amicorum, using it as a way to continue his task for the Crusade.

Unknown to the Baron, this is all part of the Grand Crusader's plan. If Baron Jespen should ever find his way back to Draenor he would be used to lay seige to both Alliance and Horde forces as well as any intelligent races dwelling on the world, leaving it as the perfect place to train a new Scarlet Crusade forces, easily capable of defeating the Scourge.
