Some Speculation on my Part

It might be interesting to note that the 5 Loa bear some resemblance to the five Aspects. Alexstrasza and Deathwing represent two sides of a coin: Life and Death. The red Alextraza could represent the Tiger, while Deathwing is the Panther. Malygos' favored humanoid form is distinctly insectoid in appearance, connecting him with the spider. Ysera controlls the domain of sleep and dreams. Sleep is associated with the night, as are nocturnal bats. There is little connection between Nozdormu and a snake.

On a slightly different note, each of the Loa could be the patron of a certain troll race. The Jungle Trolls would be akin to a tiger. Dark Trolls to the panther. Forest Trolls are known to worship a snake goddess, which would connect them to snakes. The capital of the Sand Troll kingdom, Zul'Farrak, is often associated with Spiders. There is little connection between Ice Trolls and bats.

Of course, this is all speculation on my part, and some of it could be called far-fetched.

Do they die?

This might sound stupied but if the players have the chance to kill a Loa God in this case it means that they die for good right? I mean in the lore it wasn't explained if the loas in a sense escape from their fate. the spider loa has a venom which the whitebark trolls obtain could it mean that the trolls kill the spider in a sorts of a ritual? Amani primal gods

Ok I need some clarification, about the names;

Nalorakk, the Bear Akil'zon, the Eagle Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk Halazzi, the Lynx

Are these the names of the primal gods, or the names of the trolls channeling the primal gods? Because if its the latter, then those names shouldn't be listed in the loa list. If we don't know the names of the primal gods then that needs to be mentioned.Baggins 03:30, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

I just checked blizzard's offical site for the ZA preview because I remembered a thread on the wow forums asking about this and someone said that the preview mentioned how they were the names of the trolls, though after checking it doesn't seem to specify. The poster mentioned that sense they're imprisioning the gods its unlikely they'd show enough respect to use their names, but without confirmation, I suggest putting a "named presumed" disclaimer by them, or something of the sort.Tweak the Whacked 08:03, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Apparently, and I haven't seen this personally, but the Amani Primal Gods show up in WotLK, and bear the names they have in Zul'Aman. This would lend credence to the idea that these are the names of gods and not names of trolls. --Zedric (talk) 14:44, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

I can confirm this. After beating the quest "Breaking Through Jin'Alai" in Zul'Drak the gods from Zul'Aman come in their spiritual forms. They are indeed the names of the gods and not the trolls.Uncle Troll (talk) 16:39, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Primal Gods

Darkspear Loa

I think it might be too early to speculate at this point, since the sound files have only been datamined, but where would Bwonsamdi and Zentabra fall under in relation to other Loa? Is it too early to add them to the list of Loa? Soliden (talk) 06:20, March 5, 2010 (UTC)

When the patch does drop, if that stuff remains the same, then Bwonsamdi (Baron Samedi) is a Shadow Hunter loa that we have recognized for years. He addresses Vol'jin as Shadow Hunter and is clearly in charge of the dead souls of Trolls (or at least the Darkspear), judging by the audio file. He is the game version of the pen and paper loa, Samedi finally making an appearance. -- Uncle Troll (talk) 02:44, March 10, 2010 (UTC)

Zim' are not loas

Akil'darah

He seems to share name with the forest troll loa Akil'zon (who is an eagle too), so the ymight be the same or it is possible Akil'darah is a child of Akil'zon (if loa can have children) or that Akil'darah was a hero/prophet empowered by Akil'zon. I believe i completed a quest in Hinterlands where you are teleported by a shrine of Akil'darah to the top of one of the troll.complexes in that zone. Although i can't find the quest on WoWHead. - Aedror (talk) 18:43, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
