But why the Horde?

This history is dis-satisfying, in that it still doesn't really explain why the blood elves joined the horde. It is especially puzzling that they would ally with the Forsaken, since they must constantly remind them of the devastation brought on by Arthas and the Scourge... Simple, here are several reasons:

*The Forsaken, though Undead, are A) obviously enemies of the BE's enemies. on top of that the Forsaken are the closest enemies of the Scourge to Quel'Thalas, they can provide actual support, while the Alliance is far south and west on Kalimdor.

The leader of the Forsaken is the undead cursed former Ranger-General of Quel'Thalas. She has proven, in a quest of all things, to obviously be sympathetic to Blood Elf survival and matters. Likewise, as the fallen leader of the High Elven armies defending Quel'Thalas from the Scourge, she no doubt carries allot of respect in Silvermoon.

*The horde is like that group of kids at school, the ones that dont fit into the other more traditional cliques. All Horde races are fighting for survival in a world that wants them dead, exiled, or subjigated. The Horde is the means by which these factions ensure they take their rightful place in the world and keep it, the Blood Elves, and the crap they;ve went through, will appriciate this as much as any.

*Simply put, the Alliance doesn't want them. The humans distrust them or are openly racist, the Dwarves at least couldn't care less, and at most share human sentiments, the Night Elves are downright hateful of them, The Alliance has a very strict idea of whats right and wrong (which is whatever they decide upon at the time, since the Alliance has shown itself to be less then perfect) likewise the Blood Elves feel utterly abandoned, betrayed and forgotten by their former allies, while the Alliance is a common defense and trade Organization, the defense of Quel'Thalas has almost exclusively been in the hands of the Elves, not to mention they have taken quite a beating and by the looks of things not a single act of sympathy and empathy has ever come from the Alliance because of it. In this case I am not surprised the Blood Elves have decided that if thats how friends are treated perhaps the "enemy" is a better ally.

Another reason could be that the Forsaken, unlike the Scouge, have free will, and seeing many of them used to be High Elves, it's like they'd come and said "Hey, what's up? Long time no see cousin... Oh yeah I'm still me just...dead." Durendal 23:21, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
