But is there any point to this battle ground in lore? --Rannulf 09:19, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Revision as of 09:19, 25 July 2008

Tempest Keep is a BG?

Are u trying to tell me that the raid wing of Tempest Keep is a battlegorund, that's some surprising news! --Shandris 11:35, 23 October 2006 (EDT)

Wait up, check the thottbot link. --Tinkerer 11:36, 23 October 2006 (EDT)
The thott link shows a map of BG, since when where raids = bgs? Shandris 11:42, 23 October 2006 (EDT)
Check the name on that map ;) --Tinkerer 11:44, 23 October 2006 (EDT)
Yes, what are u trying to state? Shandris 11:51, 23 October 2006 (EDT)
Well, erm, that says "Eye of the Storm" and is on the map of the battleground? :| --Tinkerer 12:07, 23 October 2006 (EDT)
And the raid...?? --Shandris 12:22, 23 October 2006 (EDT)
Is presumably called otherwise. --Tinkerer 12:24, 23 October 2006 (EDT)
Interesting.... Tempest Keep - Eye of the Storm leads here =( --Shandris 12:27, 23 October 2006 (EDT)
Added a {{Fact}} on the Tempest Keep page now :P --Tinkerer 12:33, 23 October 2006 (EDT)
A Thottbot map is of dubious veracity since Thott has lots of bogus stuff. Also, Netherstorm is supposed to be a closed zone in Beta. My bro-in-law is in the Beta, so I'll double check that Netherstorm is closed when he comes by next week. --Fandyllic (talk) 11:14 PM PST 30 Oct 2006
(Woot, back again) Yes, it's closed. I'm quite sure (through.. sources) that the map is right, though. --Tinkerer 14:18, 30 October 2006 (EST)

Check this : [1], Spell nature eyeofthestorm [Eye of the Storm Mark of Honor] . it seems quite real so far. the only thing is that this honor token doesn't have a spell as a source yet, but that's probably because it's currently closed. CJ 08:25, 3 November 2006 (EST)

Battlemasters

In this article, it states it has no instance portal and people have to use a battlemasters. In the Burning Crusade, however, no-one can use the instance portals anymore. They're there, but don't work anymore, and there's an extra Battlemaster at the location to queue up. --Tinkerer 16:00, 13 November 2006 (EST)

I'd trust the contents of a Blizzard created article, as its more likely to reflect the final functionality. They may have made a design decision on entering the Battleground, so they removed access to the portal. In a later push they may remove the portal alltogether. I believe the statement I added was valid. --Cigawoot 16:07, 20 November 2006 (EST)
I'd say wait for the release for that honestly. It may well be still bugged. --Adys 16:10, 20 November 2006 (EST)
I have the feeling they just added it for niceness. It might be better to reference to it as that it has no "station" you can go to where there are some NPCs and a quartermaster, which makes it looks nice (รก la Silverwing Outpost).
And by the way, isn't the beta trusted Blizzard stuff? ;) --Tinkerer 16:12, 20 November 2006 (EST)

Portal

Non-usable portal... where in Netherstorm is it exactly? --Shandris 07:41, 1 December 2006 (EST)

I also have not come across any Netherstorm portal... -- Kirkburn (talk) 06:44, 29 December 2006 (EST)
No, that's why I added a Fact check to it. I don't think there is one. --Tinkerer 09:16, 29 December 2006 (EST)
All the old battleground "portals" I have been to in Live WoW (patch 1.12) no longer work - AB, WSG, AV...you MUST speak to the Battlemaster in front of them.

Scoring

I've added information from the WoW page that you also get points for keeping towers - or is it inaccurate anymore? Any indication of how fast the points run from towers? Is it AB-speed or (hopefully) slower? --Potbasher 04:03, 12 January 2007 (EST)

I can confirm the following: 1 tower = 1 point per tick, 2 towers = 2 per tick, 3 towers = 5 per tick, 4 towers = 10 per tick.

Flags however are more complicated than the current page says. I only know that 2 towers + flag seems to give 70 points, and that neutral towers calculate as controlled by both factions. --Taelus 03:11, 12 February 2007 (EST)

Odd I started running some logging to check how many points are gained, for an Alliance capture when we had 1 tower and the Horde had 3 it was 75 points. --Shadow 14:24, 12 February 2007 (EST)
So after playing a few games with (A/H) 2/2, 1/3, 1/2, 2/1, 3/1 the results I get are 75 points per a capture, this doesn't seem to make sense, is anyone able to verify this? --Shadow 15:04, 12 February 2007 (EST)
I've noticed odd (i.e. not rounded to the 10s place) bonus honor totals from my eye of the storm games lately, is there a bonus honor component to flag captures at all? --Gorthag 23:24, 28 March 2007 (EDT)
Not as far as I know, if there was bonus honor from flag captures i'd imagine it would work more like Warsong Gulch where you get it as soon as you capture. --Shadow 23:46, 28 March 2007 (EDT)
Flag captures are flat 75 points always. I edited the page to say it. --maverikki
Has anyone checked to see the exact amounts of points gained per tower? As far as I can see it seems to be something like 75 -> 110 -> 125 -> 150 but these are mostly quick checks not solid numbers Mayen 20:38, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
After looking into it, it appears that it's, 1 tower = 75 points, 2 towers = 85, 3 towers = 100, 4 towers = 425. The last number seems a bit off and I need to see a flag cap with 4 nodes to confirm it, but the rest should be solid. Mayen 02:27, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
1 tower = 75, 2 towers = 85, 3 towers = 100, 4 towers = 500, updating main page to show this. Mayen 06:46, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Rewards

Are there any faction rewards here like all the other BGs

No, faction rewards don't exist anymore since you buy them all with currency. Shadow 14:03, 18 February 2007 (EST)

Bonus Honor

What is the total bonus honor for a win? What are the increments of points for bonus honor i.e. every 500 or 250? How does a EoS BG Weekend effect this? Shortened bonus honor awarding interval or more per award?

Ata'mal crystal

There is an Ata'mal crystal with the same name as the battleground. Could they somehow be related to each other? Maybe the battleground itself is a big crystal? --Odolwa 17:40, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

That would make it pretty hard for Velen to carry - though perhaps the battleground is fighting over it? User:Kirkburn/Sig3 19:42, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Seems plausible, but what do towers and flag captures have to do with acquiring this crystal? Then again, what does capture the flag have to do with WSG? At least AB and AV make sense. But even WSG has a solid story to it. This one seems to be a complete question mark. Is the battle about acquiring the crystal, or does it refer to the fact that it's a quiet spot in the center of the Netherstorm? Come on Blizzard, throw us loregeeks a bone here!
