He is Blood Elf!

When I zoomed in I found out he actually does have a faint green glow over his eyes, some Blood Elf models do have bleu eyes hiding behind the green glow. The lighting sometimes makes the glow look dimmer and then the blue stands out. Same reason why some of the female player models can sometimes have yellow glowing eyes.

I kinda wished he was a High elf but he isnt, sorry but it seems, like Nanz said, it was more desperate High Elf fans looking for High elfs. Sadly so.... ill make a good screenshot of what I mean and post the green glow as prove. Blizzard doesn't always use a different skin for Blood Elfs, since if you use the same zooming trick with some NPC's and with players you'll also find that there are blue eyes behind a green glow. Again sorry. --Dehnus (talk) 16:31, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Is he a High Elf?

I was looking on the model viewer in Wowhead and it looked like he has blue eyes. Is he a high elf? Can anyone confirm this for me?--Blayaden 19:33, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

If blizzard had actually used a slightly different model I would be easier to tell, rather than just the eye color... But I think hair color plays a part too. Do highelves have red hair, if not, then he is most definitely a blood elf. I don't think hair color plays any part at all. Lore says they can, Warcraft model viewer shows them as having the same hair colors as blood elves; and ingame Gilthares Firebough, Highvale Scouts, and Highvale Outrunners have red hair.--Blayaden 21:54, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
Is it possible to have someone go and check what his voice sounds like? I think if it was an error he would have blood elf quotes... I'd love to do it myself, but I don't have access to the game right now.--Blayaden 22:42, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Blood elf voice but the eyes clearly show him as a high elf, also he has a rather hostile personality so that may explain the voice, for now he is a high elf.--Gurluas 16:00, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

I'll make a note of it in the article. Thanks for the help!--Blayaden 18:40, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Given that the Shattered Sun Offensive is made up of the Aldor and Scryers, I'd say chances are good he's a blood elf. -- Dark T Zeratul 14:03, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
Given that he has blue eyes id say he is a high elf until otherwise proven,it is/was his homeland after all.--Gurluas 18:36, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
The designers could have simply forgotten the green tint. It's possible since this is the first time they produced a large place for a patch. High elves have separate skins from blood elves, so it seems pretty deliberate that they chose a high elven skin. All "elven races" have a glow aftereffect in front of their eyes- and since high elves share the same model(not skin) they have a greenish glow that makes their eyes look blue-green from a distance.--Blayaden 00:20, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
In my opinion this debate has more to do with fandom than facts. High Elves have many fans, and are not very represented in WoW, so people find the tiniest glimmers of hope that there is more High Elven content around. Remember how Arator the Redeemer was thought to be a Blood Elf because of his green eyes? If a High Elf can have green eyes then a Blood Elf should be able to have blue ones. It may be a model slip up. Like Zeratul said, he is a member of the SSO, so likely a former Blood Elven Scryer.--SWM2448 02:03, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Well Arator, (like you mentioned) is a half elf- and is the son of Alleria Windrunner. Alleria is stated to have green eyes, and its also stated that half elves can have more than just blue as an eye color...(although that applies to high elves as well...) So I really don't know what to say about that.
Darnarian is the only shattered sun elf npc(to my knowledge) to have blue eyes. Eyes seem to be the key in telling the differences between the races(Unless they are Dragons of course!) So, just for that reason I think its probably better to call him a High elf with a blood elf voice, than a blood elf with high elf eyes. I guess its possible for him to be a blood elf that hasn't resorted to feeding off fel energies... but that would probably make him the only one in the entire game... I dunno...--Blayaden 02:24, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Blood Elves have green eyes because they feed of fel energy, this guy has blue eyes meaning he ain feeding of fel energy, thus he is technically a high elf, even if he believes in blood elven ways. --Gurluas 08:01, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Eye colour alone does not define if one is blood elf or not, before the Blood elfs started to feed ont he fell, they where already called blood elf, since it is basically a name chance added by thier Prince. The whole thing is more a political difference or cultural different rather then a "eye colour difference". The blood elves in WC3 had normal elven eyes. So if he follows the ways of the Blood elfs, then technically he is one. But I'm not saying he is one or isn't since I don't know what Blizzard is planning with this guy, ofcourse ;).--Dehnus (talk) 19:34, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Sorry but the situation has escalated alot since Warcraft3. Today Blood Elves are a different race rather than just a political split like the Defias, Eyes are the key difference even if some high elves can have green eyes. Vice versa however is not possible.--Gurluas (talk) 19:45, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
I don't know if ALL Blood elves did, since ALL is so definitive. I wouldnt mind an uncorupted BLood elf, I think more or less the Green eyes where also added for Gameplay mechanics with some storyline around it. But He can be a High Elf that is trying to pass for a blood elf, to feel safer around all those belfies ;). There are so many posibilities, it is what makes this game fun :).--Dehnus (talk) 21:26, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Desperate high elf fans desperately looking for high elves everywhere... --N'Nanz (talk) 20:54, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Darnarian has a high elf model. He has a blood elf voice. It makes more sense that he is a high elf with a blood elf voice (as opposed to a night elf voice) Than a blood elf with a high elf model. There is a male orc with a female voice in the caverns of time. Should he be listed as a female?--Blayaden (talk) 00:26, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
He hasn't a high elf model, he has blue glowing eye. His model is more blood-elfesque since high elf has more pale skin. A question only: what's the source about blood elves can't have blue eyes? I think that the male orc with a female voice is a male. Think him with blood elf ears or eyebrows, should he be listed as a blood elf? Or do you prefer high elf? DHEFLDFHEED --N'Nanz (talk) 08:27, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
Blood Elves have extremely pale skin or extremely ruddy skin, he has a high elf skin, and looks like a high elf. Not all high elves are beautiful blondes, look at ranger lord hawkspear.--Gurluas (talk) 09:32, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Evidence currently points for High elf, should Blizzard give him green eyes he will be a blood elf again of course.--Gurluas 12:30, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

His voice and aspect points for Blood elf, his eyes only to high elf. --N'Nanz 13:05, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Since we've made notes on his personality and voice already, I think he should stay on the high elf category until blizzard changes something. He seems unique whatever he is!--Blayaden 17:56, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Ok, but it doesn't make sense --N'Nanz 19:01, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
High Astromancer Solarian, Grand Astromancer Capernian, Astromancer Lord, Astromancer, Novice Astromancer, Sunfury Astromancer. They are all blood elves and except for the latter, they are all in Tempest Keep. Clearly astromancer is a title given to blood elves mages and warlocks with a great affinity with the dark beyond and trasportation around it. There isn't a single high elf with that title nor the trainers in Stormwind andTheramore (portal trainer). Clearly Darnarian is a former blood elf scryer (<-read here there are many interesting FACT about Scryer Blood elves) who joined the Shattered Sun Offensive for the new battle. DHEFLDFHEED --N'Nanz (talk) 11:50, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
You pose quite an argument, but the evidence is insufficient to prove that Darnarian is a blood elf, and not just a high elven anomaly. The title of "Astromancer" is anything but clear in its indication of allegiance, especially considering how few high elves can be seen in World of Warcraft, and considering "astromancy"'s fairly neutral translation as "star divination" it seems unlikely that it is purely a blood elf pursuit.
As we would for a dwarf given a Dark Iron Clan skin, or more precisely as with Aggonis, son of an annihilan yet given a felguard model; we will continue to prioritize visual aspects over any other conflicting indicators. As has been agreed by a greater majority on this subject, Darnarian will remain a high elf until unmistakeably proven otherwise, i.e. by word from Blizzard. Mm'kay? --User:Vorbis/Sig 13:39, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

continued

Appeararance and voice aside most of what was put into the main article was opinions, assumptions and speculation. I've chosen to take the middle road, and point out that fact, and list him as a generic Elven, and point out that he is either a high elf or a blood elf. Unless something states specifically what he is in quest text, I don't trust model use entirely. Not the first time models have been swapped or used incorrectly or voices even.Baggins (talk) 01:46, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

I think thats a terrific idea. I was getting quite tired of the argument, and this makes everyone happy....(I hope)--Blayaden (talk) 02:39, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
I agree - thanks, Baggins. I'm surprised none of us thought of this earlier! ^^ -User:Vorbis/Sig 09:39, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
I agree too. --N'Nanz (talk) 22:54, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

He likes talking to himself

He sometimes says "If I were one of those Dawnblade blood elves, I'd be swimming away from the island now that Tairel is here." . Does anybody know who this Tairel is? (Marakanis 13:30, 12 April 2008 (UTC))

Probably the name of a player who's Exalted with the SSO and happened to be standing nearby. -- Dark T Zeratul 14:03, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Dark's on to something. I searched it and found the name of one Tairel at Server:Alonsus Europe/Crafters/Alchemy  IconSmall HighElf Male Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 18:22, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

I reckon your right then... a shame I expected him to be a powerfull high elf or something but ah well..(Marakanis 17:34, 14 April 2008 (UTC))

Was that what server you're on?  IconSmall HighElf Male Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 17:58, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
