Steel is a metal alloy whose major component is iron, with carbon being the primary alloying material. It is normally harder and stronger than iron, though more brittle. It isn't found naturally, but can be smelted from iron and  [Coal].

Steel Bar

One Iron bar and one chunk of  [Coal] are combined by the miner to create one steel bar. This can be learned at mining skill level 165.

Steel bars first come into use as an ingredient at skill level 175 in both Blacksmithing and Engineering.
