Notes
This is often considered the first talent to get as a new priest. The boost to mana regeneration helps to reduce downtime by a noticeable margin, a large boon during solo play. However, it does require you to get the killing blow, which will rarely happen if the priest is in a group as healer unless the priest has impeccable timing. This becomes somewhat easier after level 62 with the advent of Shadow Word: Death.
It is also important to note Spirit Tap allows for 200% mana regeneration outside of the five second rule.
The fact that Spirit Tap also doubles your spirit for the duration means that in conjunction with talents like Improved Divine Spirit and Spiritual Guidance a well timed Shadow Word: Death can easily add about 100 +damage / healing at level 70. Furthermore, [Meditation] grants additional 30% of regeneration while in the FSR, giving 80% in total.
