Performing your duties as a priest can be quite hazardous. Even tending to the injured and sick can attract unwanted attention to yourself. However, you trust in your faith and quietly continue your work knowing that you are protected by a higher power.

Functionality

Silent Resolve reduces the threat generated by the priest's non-Shadow-Magic spells and reduces the chance the priest's spells will be dispelled. This is a passive talent and does not require activation.

Prequisites: 5 points in the Discipline talent tree

Rank Effect
Rank 1/5 4% Threat reduction & chance that your spells will resist dispel effects
Rank 2/5 8% Threat reduction & chance that your spells will resist dispel effects
Rank 3/5 12% Threat reduction & chance that your spells will resist dispel effects
Rank 4/5 16% Threat reduction & chance that your spells will resist dispel effects
Rank 5/5 20% Threat reduction & chance that your spells will resist dispel effects

Notes

  • The talent provides threat reduction for all non-shadow spells, both offensive and defensive. It also stacks with other threat reduction methods such as the Paladin's Spell holy sealofsalvation [Blessing of Salvation], and the Shaman's Ability shaman tranquilmindtotem [Tranquil Air Totem].
  • As of Patch 2.0.10, Silent Resolve no longer reduces threat generated by Shadow spells. There is some discussion as to whether this reduces the threat generated by using Spell shadow unsummonbuilding [Vampiric Embrace] or not. Though Blizzard claims that Silent Resolve does not reduce threat from Vampiric Embrace healing, testing from threat meter authors seems to indicate differently. [1]
  • As of Patch 2.4], Silent Resolve affects Surge of Light, Power Infusion, Inspiration, Spirit Tap, Blackout, Levitiate, Shackle Undead, Touch of Weakness, Hex of Weakness, and Symbol of Hope.
