[[Category:warrior abilities]][[Category:warrior abilities]]

Shockwave is a Warrior ability at the top of the Protection Tree. It provides an point-blank area of effect cone (similiar to Spell frost glacier [Cone of Cold]) to a distance of about 7 yards. It does considerable damage and a four second stun.

Improvement

  • Ability warrior focusedrage [Focused Rage] reduces the rage cost of this ability by 1, 2 or 3 Rage depending on the points invested in the talent.
  • Inv glyph majorwarrior [Glyph of Shockwave] reduces the cooldown of this ability by 3 seconds.

Tips and tactics

  • Use right after a pull in a group of mobs, then Spell nature thunderclap [Thunder Clap], wait for the stun effect to wear off and use Ability defend [Shield Block] for initial damage mitigation and good threat boost. Requires the usage of Ability warrior charge [Charge], Ability racial bloodrage [Bloodrage] or Rage Potion to provide sufficient Rage.
  • Can be used to (mass) counterspell and to stun running mobs, if timed correctly.
  • Because of the considerable damage, this skill should always be on cooldown along with Spell nature thunderclap [Thunder Clap] when AOE tanking. Care must be taken not to overlap this skill's stun debuff with the duration of Ability defend [Shield Block] to maximize damage mitigation.
