Since patch 2.1.0, you may now re-specialize. It will cost {{cost|150}} to unlearn the current specialization.
Once you selected the Shadoweave Specialization, you cannot change it. The only way to select a different specialization it to drop the Tailoring profession entirely, and start from scratch.

The upcoming 2.1.0 patch is scheduled to allow re-specialization. Beyond the fact that it will "cost gold each time," the details have not yet been revealed. [https://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=94203802&sid=1]

Inv fabric felrag2020

Shadoweave Tailoring is one of the Tailoring Specializations you are able to choose in Shattrath City.

Shadoweave specialization allows you to create two units of Inv fabric felcloth ebon [Shadowcloth] instead of one using the same amount of materials and grants access to Shadoweave Tailoring specific recipes.

Becoming a Shadoweave Tailor

To specialize in Shadoweave tailoring, a character must complete N [70] Becoming a Shadoweave Tailor, given by Andrion Darkspinner <Shadoweave Specialist> in Shattrath City. To obtain this quest you need to have 350 proficiency in Tailoring, and be ready to travel to Shadowmoon Valley. You don't need to be level 70.

The quest requires you to travel to the Altar of Shadows and attune a crystal to it, then travel back to Shattrath City to complete the quest.

The Altar of Shadows is located inside the Netherwing Pass, a valley in the cluster of mountains in the southeast corner of Shadowmoon Valley. The pass begins in the middle range of the mountains (coords 62,63) and the Altar is on the edge of the cliff, directly south (coords 58,71).

You don't need any mats to complete the quest, and it won't start the cooldown on Shadoweave crafting. Immediately after completing the quest you may travel back to Shadowmoon Valley to craft your fist two pieces of Shadowcloth.

Changing Specialization

Since patch 2.1.0, you may now re-specialize. It will cost 150g to unlearn the current specialization.

Crafting Shadowcloth

Crafting Shadowcloth is not exclusive to Shadoweave Tailors, but the specialization will always produce 2 pieces of Shadowcloth with the mats for a single one.

The materials are:

To craft Shadowcloth, the tailor must stand at the Altar of Shadows, located in Shadowmoon Valley. After crafting, the tailor will receive a "Shadowy Fortitude" buff which provides +25 stamina for one hour.

The cooldown on the crafting is 96 hours (4 days), but it's not shared with the cooldowns on the other types of specialized cloth, namely Inv fabric moonrag primal [Primal Mooncloth] and Inv fabric spellfire [Spellcloth].

Exclusive Patterns

Shadoweave Tailoring gives exclusive access to the following patterns:

The items are Bind on Pickup, meaning only Shadoweave Tailors can equip them. The patterns can be obtained from Andarion Darkspinner, after you have completed the specialization quest.

The Frozen Shadoweave Set is arguably the best Frost Mage/Warlock/Shadow Priest equipment attainable before the 25-man raid instances. It nicely complements either Spellstrike Infusion ([Spellstrike Hood]+[Spellstrike Pants]), or the Battlecast Garb ([Battlecast Hood]+[Battlecast Pants]), because they use different equipment slots.
