Silver Hand

Silver Hand is a Role Playing server. It is one of only a handful of roleplaying servers that have been online since release day, in November 2004, and at that time it was the only roleplaying server set to Pacific time. Hence, many of the server's first players lived on the U.S. west coast, and it attracted many players from Hawaii and Australia. That's less true now that the servers are no longer officially categorized by time zone (though Silver Hand game-time continues to be identical to Pacific Standard Time, adjusting for Daylight Savings).

Silver Hand, like all roleplaying servers, has a large faction imbalance favoring the Alliance, something which makes PvP queue times especially long for the Alliance and especially short for Horde.

"Famous" People

  • Detton: Incredibly randy orc, plays "Doctor" with Alliance women.
  • Frozz: Former leader of the former raid guild Afterlight and beloved "dwarven druid".
  • Hennet: Infamous whiner. One of the names used by HAX in its many reformings was <GO AWAY HENNET>.
  • Honorhoof: Controversial Tauren druid, who remained convinced that druids could do Feral DPS, as well as heal competitively in end game raiding.
  • Jacefox/Jannice: Notorious griefer and forum troll.
  • Josephina/Ramian: Former leader of <The Rising Shadow>, a large Alliance raid guild, now with <Silence>, another large Alliance raiding guild; known for his "colorful" language.
  • Kandiping: Notorious Horde-side farmer.
  • Kretol: Staunch defender of the Horde, often found defending Razor Hill or The Crossroads, widely considered one of the most skilled Shamans in the Horde.
  • Love: Priestress long suffering from awful puns with regard to her name. Hopeless fashion addict.
  • Nobunaga: Made the World of Warcraft frontpage for showing up to Blizzcon in a costume of full Dreadmist. Mocked on Something Awful. Canadian multimillionaire.
  • Raab: Famous for never attaining 60 and trolling the forums incessantly. It's rumored that he sold his account, which subsequently got banned.
  • Sayuke/Zayuke: Former Grand Marshal, either loved or hated. Detractors claim she used less-than-honorable methods to gain her rank; her friends tend to support her rabidly.
  • Theris: Paladin noted for his voracious love of PvP and his inutterable arrogance in-character.
  • Zulgazarg: Controversial defender of Horde territories, some object to his methods or his mode of speech. He holds a weekly informative chat about the history of the world.
  • Zyzzyx: Nicknamed "Letters" or "Eyechart", a forum denizen and notoriously anti-elf (but pro elf-smooches).
