In the summer of 2008, the #1 guild of Muradin at the time, Grandeur (Alliance), transferred to Kilrogg. They were stuck in Sunwell (before the 3.0 patch) and for the life of them could not recruit raiders to join them. However, the impact of Grandeur on the realm will always be remembered. Visions, one of the guild's priests, had taken much time in organizing 25 man PUGs (pick-up-groups). He designed them to help the smaller guilds on the realm that either A. Didn't have enough experience or B. Didn't have enough people. He organized almost a month or two's worth of successful groups, downing Magtheridon several times. This was done out of the kindness of his heart and promoted the idea of server progression. Not to mention the fact it was extremely fun! |

Starting in the summer of 2008, Muradin was struck by a guild called "The Mini Mob". Led by the leader "MiniMaster", these short devils are known to almost everyone on the Muradin server (Ally side). The Minis are frequently seen in Alliance Trade chat, with anything as small as "Mini! Mini! Mini!" to "This server has now been permanently effected by us. We are the inevitable. We live in your house, we exist in your food, and we can see under your skirts with ease." These pronouncements are made to invoke anger in some, and laughter in others. The reason why the Minis are significant to be mentioned here is because of the fact that they have made a permanent change to the history of the Muradin realm. |

In order to join the Mini Mob, one must make a new character and keep it under (and including) level 6. Also, it must be a gnome with its name starting with "Mini". Names such as "Minivan" "Miniskirt" and "Miniboss" are examples of these. The goal of being in the Mini Mob was to be as loud as possible without breaking the Blizzard legal agreements. |

− | Recently, the Minis have altered the fabric of the game forever. Due to the widespread hatred of the Mini Mob, people were reporting them for minor things in the hope that they would get banned. This ranged anywhere from an "improper" name to a "offensive" slur. The Mini never actually try to achieve these goals, but are sought to be removed from the realm by many. Realm Information
History
Muradin opened as a transfer-only realm on the 13th of March, 2006, accepting players from Doomhammer, Icecrown, Proudmoore, and Uther. Several of these realms suffered stability issues since their start, and several already-successful raiding guilds transferred to the queue and lag free new server. However by the end of March only a few thousand characters had transferred, and there were fewer than a thousand active players.[1] With the small raiding population from which to recruit a few guilds dissolved, while other's progression was severely plagued. Most guilds however had reasonable success with the realm's good stability.[2] Others that focused on PvP had a similarly rocky start. Though several Horde groups had a good time, before the introduction of cross-realm battlegrounds the Alliance faced 10 and 15-player queues upwards of an hour. As such, very few guilds founded as a PvP-only group lasted very long. Those that did were relieved late August with the cross-realm battlegrounds.
When players arrived on Muradin, the first bit of business was the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj. The gates had already been opened on the four realms players had transferred from, but initially Blizzard chose to keep the original gate events unchanged. Grandeur had already completed the Scepter for the Proudmoore gate opening, and had killed the Twin Emperors the day before transfers opened to Muradin. They were quick to start work on their second Scepter, while their new old realm-mate Hush began work on their first. After the required instance clears and boss kills, and tireless hours of farming obscure drops (and a rep-grind for the Hush holder), both finished their Scepters with good time to spare. Midway through the War Effort grind, Blizzard opened the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj in a hotfix. Neither holder was able to receive the legendary [Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal], though the other (arguably more valuable) rewards were received.
Of the five guilds progressing through Ahn'Qiraj at the servers introduction, four had transferred from Proudmoore -- a crowded realm riddled with stability and latency issues at the time. As such, a lot of realm's crowd became fairly closely knit early on. Many saw this as abrasive and elitist. This was most dramatically displayed in a feud between a small, casual Horde guild Wandering Spiders, and a large Alliance raiding guild, Hush. Though the majority of the dispute was on the realm forum, the root of the issue was in interference by a vocal minority of Wandering Spiders members during attempts by Hush to kill Emeriss in the Feralas, and Eranikus in Moonglade. Though Hush managed to kill both, a video that surfaced of the Moonglade event caused much frustration. Is has been to date the only exciting bit of drama to grace the Muradin forums.
In the time since March of '06, Muradin's population has ballooned to 14'000 players. It has superseded one of the realms characters originally transferred from in terms of population, Proudmoore, and is nearly as high as two others, Icecrown and Doomhammer, though it still suffers a population imbalance much greater than any.[3] Some of the problems the server found itself in have been addressed in patches since, and the player base once almost segregated by server of origin have pulled themselves into a distinct community and culture. There is a little bit of everything, guild progression ranging from Vault of Archavon on one end, all the way to Sartharion, 10 and 25 man, with 3 drakes up. There are large east coast, west coast, and oceanic groups of every type. PvP has changed, with horde being largely underpopulated, but yet skillful enough to keep the massive Alliance in check.
The Mini Plague
Recently, the Minis have altered the fabric of the game forever. Due to the widespread hatred of the Mini Mob, people were reporting them for minor things in the hope that they would get banned. This ranged anywhere from an "improper" name to a "offensive" slur. The Mini never actually try to achieve these goals, but are sought to be removed from the realm by many. A mere forum post by Minimaster on 3/10/09 right here wound up finally leading Blizzard into changing the portal and operations of Wintergrasp on 03/14/09. The Mini proudly claim that this is their greatest achievement (so far). MiniMaster is still occasionally found participating in Wintergrasp.
