"Frostmane" is a PvP server (realm) in Central Timezone, US. Originally released in February of 2005, the transfers from the Frostwolf realm greatly changed the dynamic of the server in August of 2005. For the first six months of its existence, Frostmane was predominantly dominated by the horde, leading to a severely outnumbered alliance. The influx of transfers from Frostwolf to Frostmane drastically increased the amount of alliance players.
Originally, the guilds Disband (horde) and Resolution (Alliance) dominated the Frostmane PVE scene. An alliance guild, Leather Gear Solid, focused on PVP exclusively. Currently, the server is dominated by Vicious Cycle on the Alliance side, and Kinetic and Militia on the horde side.
PVP on Frostmane is extremely intense and fiercely competitive. Achieving the highest ranks require months of dedication, and have been accomplished almost exclusively by guilds who CP farm. Due to the population imbalance, horde queue times are virtually instant whereas alliance typically has to wait longer.

Vicious Cycle - Stated by some to be one of the top Guilds in World of Warcraft in PVP and PVE. Guild has a large number of helpful and knowledgeable players. However you have about a 1/50 chance of meeting any of these nice players because they are pretty much a bunch of large epeen shit talkers. Very skilled though, and like to exploit the pvp/pve system to their advantage as much as they can get away with.
War Front - Skilled PvE/PvP guild, smaller core than VC, arguably as talented. Can't compete with VC progression-wise because of smaller numbers. Wins gold star for being raid guild of top caliber while also making sitting in naxx for 7 hours fun. Not many guilds can say that.
DragonFiight - Same as War Front, much tighter of a core than VC. Very friendly people.
Blood Vortex - aka Asian Vortex. Last of the naxx capable guilds. VC is obviously miles ahead of WF and DF, and BV is lagging behind the other two.
Shar Hellven - a friendly, mostly PvE guild.

Dizzy - Undermanned, overpowered. Got 3 bindings on their first three Garr kills. Cool people who don't seem to care about what others think and have fun with the game.
Overpower - Used to be on par with blood vortex, then disbanded. Veterans now reside in the naxx guilds. Some of the original players reformed it, but it lacks its original progress.

Kinetic - One of the best Pve Guild hordeside, lead by Akumu. Well respected by Alliance for their undeniable skill and talented playerbase.
Omerta - Omerta keeps quiet their accomplishments and just keeps on trucking.
Militia - Used to be a PvP power, Had several players leave months ago.
Furious Lobster - Good with butter. Fun bunch of aspiring players. Sadly they can't progress as much as they should because of players moving to "better" guilds.
