While most of Elune's drama has stayed on Elune, one occurrence actually reached people that did not even play on Elune, or [[World of Warcraft]] for that matter. Karen, formerly known as Tiffany on his previous realm and as Brenda in EQ, was a middle-aged pedophile who for 5+ years and through various MMOs pretended to be a young teenage girl. The details of all the drama regarding this event could not fit in this short page, but there is an entire WoWWiki page dedicated to it. Visit here: http://www.wowwiki.com/Karen

Elune

Elune Forum

Elune is one of the handful of realms that opened on release date. Although not quite as popular as other realms, it has had its share of spotlight moments. Altera Vita(e) was the most prominent raiding guild on the realm, but now they suck.. Just Crusade also made a name for itself in being one of the first 10 Alliance guilds to down Viscidus in AQ40. Just Crusade also made a name for themselves by having the most racists within the ranks of their guild.

One of the largest drawbacks of this realm remains its imbalance. While the Horde:Alliance ratio plagues nearly all (carebear)realms, Elune is one of the worst (according to Warcraft Realms census). This is clearly visible when you play on this realm. Since the inception of paid transfers and the collapse of many high-end Horde guilds, many people have left the Horde. Yet, back when world PvP was a regular occurence, the Horde would destroy the Alliance until the Alliance decided that their lack of skill could be overcome by sheer numbers. Way to go, faggots. Horde cities often resemble ghost towns. Most Horde guilds as of October 2006 are barely making headway into Blackwing Lair. Nevertheless, Elune remains a great realm full of unique people and always something new to talk about. Any Horde player looking to join Elune and its ranks is highly encouraged to do so.

Also, the server is full of whiny carebears. Remember that if you choose to roll there.

Guilds

Some of the following information may be out of date as guilds merge, disband, and are created on a daily basis. Perhaps the most current out-of-game resource for guild populations is the Warcraft Realms Census.

Elune in general

As a release day server, Elune has seen a fair share of excellent players as well as r-tards. Many people have played on the server and left/re-rolled for various reasons only to return to the forums to keep in contact with people they played with and e-friends. Drama aside, Elune was at one point one of the most promising US PvE servers to play on. It has since declined into shadow of it's former self.

Drama on Elune

Elune received spotlight attention on a few occasions for its homegrown drama. Here we will highlight a few instances that have remained a staple in the realms history.

Bane/Arysa Scandal

In early 2006 the most prominent horde guild, Elegy, and alliance guild Altera Vita both shared the same server host for their guild forums. One of the Elegy members was also the forum host, and had access to administrator features for both guild's forums. After some snooping, said administrator discovered that two Altera Vita members were using the phpbb forum instant messaging system to have "cyber sex," discuss each other's sexual wishes, as well as talk about their real life sexual encounters with each other. Logs of the conversations between the two were circulated amongst Elegy members to amuse themselves, but following the disband of Elegy as a raiding guild, several ex-members released the logs to other Elune players and they were promptly posted on the official WoW Elune forums to the delight of many Elunites. Not so delighted was Gnomicus, who before the great coup d'etat of 2006, led Altera Vita (now Altera Vitae), and he is rumored to have removed both Bane and Arysa for their extracurricular activities.

Bane was considered among the most notorious personalities on the realm for his snide comments in the alliance's "highinstance" channel as well as elitist remarks he made on the official realm forums. Combined with Arysa's longtime relationship with Altera Vita priest "Laes," this became arguably the most well-known drama to ever take place on the server. Laes quit soon after (and has recently returned to playing), Bane joined the now-defunct Failure to obtain a Thunderfury and is back in the newly reformed AV under the leadership of Magnus, and Arysa now wallows in the abyss of oblivion with her chiclet teeth.

The Evaki Pictures

Anyone who has been around MMORPGs for any period of time knows that "internet relationships" occur quite frequently. The most notorious example of this to date on Elune was the Evaki scandal. In early 2005, several months after release, Horde tauren Hunter Evaki and Horde Druid Heirophant began e-dating. During this time Evaki, through use of instant messenger programs, sent Heirophant pictures of herself naked, posing, and of her genital area. Not long after this they "broke up" after Heirophant took another female character to their so called dating spot in Mulgore.

Heirophant saved these pictures for nearly a year, showing them to fellow Elegy guild members who creatively edited them (going so far as to placing a Inv misc bag 13 [Bottomless Bag] over what appeared to be the exit of Evaki's rotten birth canal) and put them on their front news page for everyone to see. Not content to go quietly into the night after being embarrassed on Elegy's front page, Evaki continued to harass Elegy officer Saman and he added screenshots of the conversations with Evaki on the Elegy front page as well. One would expect that Heiro would have simply deleted these pictures following their break-up out of decency, but since Heiro was a greasy tard (one that can't spell hierophant) he kept them for his own amusement. As a result, Elegy member Neuadven (noobadven), gave the pictures to another horde guild, R I P co.

R I P co, which is now the most progressed raiding guild on horde, is best known for the rude, racist, and rowdy behavior (visit the www.ripcoguild.com frontpage to get an idea) of 10 or so of their members. Shortly after receiving these pictures, Repsac (not a R I P co member, but a friend) posted these pictures on his FTP, and made a thread on the realm forums regarding it. Hundreds of Elunites visited this website. Word made it out to the Raid and Dungeon forums somehow and after 3 days the FTP had 1700 unique IP addresses visit it.

Evaki has since switched her main character but remains on the realm. Those who have seen the pictures, as well as the Photoshopped versions Repsac and Elegy druid Saman made (aptly titled "Chromaggus C*nt"), will never forget them.

Karen

While most of Elune's drama has stayed on Elune, one occurrence actually reached people that did not even play on Elune, or World of Warcraft for that matter.
