Overview[]

Durotan is an Eastern Timezone PvE (Player versus Environment) server that has been open since launch (Nov 23 2004).

The server has about 22,000 active characters with 65% of them being Alliance. Durotan is often referred to as "Dramatan" in the realm forums due the heated topics that can usually be found there. Durotan is part of Battlegroup Ruin (the 3rd battlegroup).

Past Guilds[]

Major guild history, post-TBC announcement:

  • Arisen (GM Synapse) (Officers Xcyot, Sin, Blender) was one of the first guilds to form on Durotan. As time passed and members started to bail off, the GM and officers eventually disbanded Arisen. Arisen for most of the time on Durotan, had many horde firsts.
  • Aspire, an alliance guild that was a year old, disbanded on December 12 2006.
  • Eon, an alliance guild, disbanded in December 2006. They reformed into Monolith under new guild leadership.
  • The Nightcrawlers (GM Himmelweiss), the 2nd raiding guild on Durotan and always trailing Ebon Order with regards to progression, disbanded before Naxxramas. The guild reformed shortly after as Illumination. Illumination then passed Ebon Order, after Ebon Order was disbanded and became the raiding guild on Durotan.
  • Ebon Order, the dominant Alliance raiding guild for the majority of their existence disbanded shortly after Naxxramas came out. Atreus, their GM, transfered servers and disbanded the guild, however he did announce his intentions and properly notified his members. Ebon Order held all server firsts during their time on Durotan.
  • On Thursday, January 4th, 2007 Durotan was given free character transfers to a new PvE eastern realm, Arygos. 4 other servers (Eonar, Duskwood, Icecrown, Draka) were also allowed to transfer. The transfers were scheduled to close on Tuesday, January 9th. Multiple horde guilds including Last Resort, Fallen, The Grubs, and Elysian left the server, accompanied by a handful of alliance.
  • On Friday, April 20th, 2007 Durotan's most progressed guild, Defiant, left the server to merge with another endgame guild on the Ysera server. Ironically Grand Marshal Daddybigbuk (formerly known as Daddybigbuck) Returned to Durotan from Ysera's guild that same day. Defiant's merger left many members stranded on Durotan who then formed the guild Synergy.
  • On Saturday, April 21st, 2007 Many members of The Highbourne (an endgame guild on Durotan) Formed a new guild called Unity. Unity is lead by Nomisad and is focused on level 70 end game raiding.
  • On Friday, April 27th 2007, Remaining members of The Highbourne merged with Domination to form the new guild Kindred. Kindred is focused on 25 man raiding end game content.
  • On Saturday, April 28th 2007, Evos disbanded his guild, Unieashed. (In-game, the "i" was seen as a lower-case "L," as the letters in the game's font are indistinguishable.)
  • Remaining members of Ebon Order later reformed into a guild called Meridian, which dissolved into another new guild, Reborn.
  • Remaining members of Illumination on Durotan formed Wasted Epics.
  • Reborn and Wasted Epics merged to form Hype, meant to be one of the few hardcore guilds on Durotan.
  • After internal struggle, members of Hype left to form Dissonance. Hype then merged with Unity and again fell apart.
  • War for Territory, one of the smaller guilds, but still powerful guilds of Durotan. Guild progression included Stratholme and Razz in Scholomance.
  • Carnicerus establishes the guild Thirteenth Chaos, after power struggles the guild is reformed as Thirteenth Kaos and remains powerful as Carnicerus returns to the guild under the name Roako. Months later, the guild collapses after Roako leaves once more.
  • Bloodlust Represent, one of the largest and most influential Alliance 19 twink guilds in the US, resides on Durotan.
