Dethecus is rightly known as the most degenerate server in all of Warcraft. The realm forums are a disgusting display of trolling and insults, and ganking, corpse-camping, and general griefing run wild in the actual game. While such activities take place on most servers, these events are not only far more common on Dethecus, and not only considered acceptable by the standards of the community, but are actually lauded and praised by nearly the entire server. Dethecus is the ghetto of Warcraft, and the majority of its players take pride in being the most vicious trolls, the most skilled griefers, and the most offensive of people. Forum-bans and even in-game bans are badges of honor that many players are proud to wear. Many players have two accounts, one for each faction, and it is not uncommon for people to be extorted for "protection money". This is a scam wherein a group from one faction repeatedly griefs an enemy player, who is then approached by a member of his own faction and told that for a large fee he will protect the victim from the group. The "protector" and the group are of course working together, but in many cases the victim has no choice but to pay the money, as the group will sometimes pursue the same victim for many days. This disgusting exploit is only one of the many examples of the complete lack of human decency exhibited on Dethecus. Under no circumstances should anyone post on the Dethecus Realm Forums. In the words of one prominent forum troll HarleyDavis, "We're xenophobic and we hate newcomers." Most of the trolls are members of either < M E R C I L E S S > or <Months Behind>, an AF and a Horde guild respectively, with a slight alliance and many of the same members. There are, however, many "affiliates", or trolls who associate with these guilds despite membership in a different guild. <Months Behind> favors the posting of "tranny porn" while < M E R C I L E S S > members favor a complete dichotomy of attacks, half the members posting well-written (but still insulting and offensive) logical arguements while the other half post what can only be described as assaults on the English language, usually containing both in-game and real-life death threats. The Dethecus community is so offensive and xenophobic that, when any-server transfers opened up, many members launched a crusade called "Keep Dethecus Pure" or "Dethecus for Dethecites". This crusade was blatantly racist, and the most prominent forum troll, NawtCale, actually offered 10 gold to the winner of a hideous contest. Based on Edward Norton's racisim in the movie American History X, the winner of the contest made a forum sig which contained a picture of a black man being lynched, the words "THIS MEANS NOT WELCOME" crudely photoshopped beneath his feet. While every server has its degenerates, these people are usually shunned by the community. On Dethecus, these people become minor heroes. Anyone with a basic sense of human decency should avoid this server at all costs. Should you decide for some moronic reason to lower yourself into this cesspool of racism and hate, make sure not to reveal to anyone that you are new to the server, ESPECIALLY if you are transferring from another realm.

P.S. I have never heard of hiring a "Protector." This kind of behavior rarely or quite possibly never occurs. Most of the citizens of Dethecus are what some would call "Normal." This might be hard to believe with a server full of bigots and barbarians, but this stereotyping of our server is absolutely atrocious
