Horde Domination

As a result of the overwhelming Horde presence, many Alliance players have become increasingly bitter towards the Horde. This has provoked a few players to find other servers that are Alliance dominated. As a result, the Alliance in general have taken up its own form of Southshore's "Hordefall" by becoming increasingly hostile towards Horde of all levels. There exists a significant rivalry between the prominent Horde and Alliance raid guilds which often spills over into world PvP. Pitched battles rage for many hours over world bosses and key locations.

Disbanded Raiding Guilds

While there are too many to list here, Demon Soul was home to many now disbanded guilds. Notable guilds include Ðenial (Alliance), which held every pre-Burning Crusade server first, as well as Liquid Reality (later called NORAD) which held just about every pre-Burning Crusade Horde-side first.

Unofficial History

The history of the server is very unique in its own way. Many notable events include "The Azuregos Incident" and the disbanding of guilds such as Trucido II. The transferring of Alliance players from Demon Soul to other servers and the Horde ratio domination also played a big role.

Official History

THE BURNING LEGION HAS COME.

Led by the mighty Archimonde, scores of demonic soldiers now march across the lands of Kalimdor, leaving a trail of death and devastation in their wake. At the heart of the fiery invasion stands the mystic Well of Eternity -- once the source of the Night Elves' arcane power. But now the Well's energies have been defiled and twisted, for Queen Azshara and her Highborne will stop at nothing to commune with their newfound god: the fiery Lord of the Burning Legion...Sargeras.

The night elf defenders, led by the young druid, Malfurion Stormrage, and the wizard, Krasus, fight a desperate battle to hold back the Legion's terrible onslaught. Though only embers of hope remain, an ancient power has risen to aid the world in its darkest hour. The dragons -- led by the powerful Aspect, Neltharion -- have forged a weapon of incalculable power: the Dragon Soul, an artifact capable of driving the Legion from the world forever. But its use may cost far more than any could have foreseen.

World PvP

Many would describe World PvP on Demon Soul as of now, Dead. Though Demon Soul has had much World PvP in its past. Most of us haven't been around for all of it, though some of us have. World PvP still does exist as long as we stay united, but if we give up and leave or stay away from other players then it is dead.Demon Soul is serious business! Below is a list of World PvP events that have happened in the past. Not all are listed.

The Azuregos Incident

The once Alliance guild Denial gathered 40 of its best lvl 60 raiders, in the first few months of Demon Soul's birth. Need I not remind that this was before the Burning Crusade and lvl 60 was the highest attainable lvl at the time. The raiders were sent to kill the World Raid Dragon, Azuregos which resides in Azshara. The Raiders encoutered the combined might of YMBCM and Chaotic which were attempting to do the same thing. A massive PvP event erupted and at the peak of the battle there were about 150-200 players in the battle. It is estimated to have lasted over four hours. During the battle 5 Liquid Reality members were present (Defunct Horde Guild) who happened to be cross-faction allies of Denial, LR refused to assault Denial during the battle which for months would hold a bitter taste in the mouths of the Horde guilds and others present that day.

Westfall Genocide

Unbeknownst to the majority of the Demon Soul population was that of the Genocide that occurred in Westfall throughout the Fall months of the year 2006. Thought to have been started by the Late Horde Achievement pvp h 07 [Blood Guard] Slen, but many historians debate that he only carried on the lasting tradition of "Westfall Ganking." It was during these last few months of the year 2006 that the many alliance leveled, almost completely oblivious to the unnecessary bloodshed that they would soon partake in at the outpost of Sentinel Hill. Weeks went on and there were many cries for help from the decimated Alliance, many of which went unanswered by all save the few brave souls that gave their life to save the hopeless.

It was during this time that most of the blame was centered on an Orc Rogue, Warrior, and many other incredibly dull individuals, they were of course trolled until they transferred off or quit the game.

It was Blood Guard Slen, who halfway through the month of November--just about 7 minutes till quarter till the 14th hour on the 13th day--had crowned himself King and Supreme Ruler of Westfall, a title that to this day has only been challenged by two brave individuals.

On December 13th, just about an hour past noon Alliance Achievement pvp a 02 [Corporal] Biggiesmals and Elly, a level 29 Gnome warrior and a level 13 Gnome rogue, worked against all odds (size, power, might, and etc.) to defeat Blood Guard Slen on the hill just southerly of the Sentinel Hill inn. It was a fierce battle that lasted many minutes, some eye witnesses say that it lasted over an hour. Bloody and worn out, with the sun slowly descending through the plain Westfall sky, Biggiesmals and Elly saved Westfall from the terrible grip from it's cruel rule of Blood Guard Slen.

Many say that this was the reason for the Blood Guard Slen's immediate flee into exile for 8 months. It is not known as to where he escaped the terrible thoughts of blood and conquest, but some historians suspect that he escaped to the furthest boundaries of MMORPG life, to Real Life itself.

And while Elly, after a tragic event involving a beautiful female Night Elf, ended his life so terribly on his travel to the Great Sea, Biggiesmals has stayed as a low-level alliance, having vowed to protect the people of Westfall from future horde invaders.

Thus concludes one of Demon Soul's lesser known chapters of existence.

The Siege of Stormwind

About 2 or 3 months after the Christmas of 2006, a large group of Horde raiders attacked Stormwind. The Battle lasted late into the night with the crippled Alliance finally driving out the Horde. Since then no large raids on Stormwind have been attempted save one which was a failed raid, during Brewfest 2007.

Yet spirited unborken, another Horde raid was attempted on Stormwind around the night of December 20th, just days before Christmas of 2007. The Horde was able to penetrate all the way up to Stormwind Palace, but its unclear if the Horde was able to kill the boy- King Anduin Wrynn. It is also uncertain what Horde guild had partaken on the raid.

So far, no successful Alliance raid has been able to penetrate Orgrimmar or Undercity. Documented source of unsuccessful raid done by Alliance on Undercity shows this.

The Ironforge Spies

About every month or so, the Dwarven capital of Ironforge experience regular visits by The Horde. Usually these are by rogues who stealth their way into Ironforge and harass its denizens. The Horde scales buildings or get into the crack in The Commons and provokes the players.

The Transportation Ambush

Just like Ironforge, the Horde makes their way into the Deeprun Tram, or onto the boats coming and leaving Menethil Harbor and Darnassus. This disrupts travel, provoking many players to request mage portals to major cities and take the flight path. Which in turn causes time lose. But the recent addition of ship crews have lessen the hostile Horde ship camping.

The Fight for the Crossroads

Otherwise known as Demon Soul Raids Barrens, the raid on Crossroads was a very successful one for the Alliance. Filmed by Farimir and posted on Youtube under the name, Demon Soul Raids Barrens, the Raid was lead by Overmage, leader of the Elders. Assistant Leaders included Busuttilone and Lilpally. The Raid occured in May 2007. Although this is not the only Alliance raid on the Crossroads, it is however the only documented source.

Stolen Winter Veil Treats 2007 Showdown

On the first day of Feast of Winter Veil 2007, the quest You're a Mean One... off the chain quest Stolen Winter Veil Treatsbecame a battlegrounds in Ruins of Alterac. It is estimated that between 30-40 Horde and Alliance fought over key spawn points of the The Abominable Greench. The fighting had lasted for a few hours, Horde being dominate in the morning but then fanning out towards the afternoon. This fight had caught many off guard who were either passing through or questing in the area. This has been marked as one of the biggest holiday quest conflicts in Demon Soul history.

Controversy

The Alliance guild Elite and it's leader Justinblade have caused much controversy on the server. He is known for his constant organizing raids om Tarren Mill in the Hillsbrad Foothills.

As in response to these raids, The Horde constantly raids and occupies Southshore. Usually multiple times a day.

Alliance Guilds of Demon Soul

Below is a list of guilds that have made many accomplishments (some good, some bad) on the Demon Soul Alliance and deserve to be listed here.

Ðenial (disbanded)

Guild Leader: Meese

Held utter and complete domination of Demon Soul prior to The Burning Crusade, their history extends to the very beginnings of Demon Soul all the way up to a few months prior to TBC. They were working on C'thun in Ahn'Qiraji when their guild disbanded they had been battling him for a few weeks and some players (Bruderschaft, Gnouge, Goretex, and some others) became "upset" with the progress and prepared on another guilds vent as to how to leave and where to go (deathwing server), while others choose to play The Burning Crusade Beta, multiple things lead to the downfall of this great guild. But Their Brutal History of domination over demon soul is told in tales of battles between YMBCM, ZGR, Chaotic (disbanded) at outdoor bosses. On top of that they had a obvious working relationship with Liquid Reality at the time the Dominating Horde guild (which brought disdain from horde players). To this day out of all the carnage of the early days we look back and appreciate the abilities of the guild known as Ðenial.

Veritas

Currently one the only few good Demon Soul-Alliance raiding guilds around, save a few, Veritas has been around since nearly the beginning and has downed most of the games raid bosses. Currently Lead by Steele, Veritas is one of the very few in Demon Soul that Alliance has left to offer any accomplishments.

Bloodbath N' Beyond

Unclear how old of a guild, but possibly over a year old (as of December 2007), Bloodbath N' Beyond (BBnB) is an old un/favorite of Demon Soul. Lead by Ladeylocksly, BBnB are known for once being one of the best guilds on Demon Soul back before Trucido II disbanded. Recently in the past few months, BBnB seems to be doing a bit less as well as it used to. In hopes of sparking up interest in raiders, BBnB now hosts BC raids.

Trucido II

The rebirth of Trucido, Trucido II was Demon Soul's best raiding guild until it disbanded in October 2007. Soon after, many members transfered to other servers. As a result, the population of Demon Soul dropped from Medium to Low, with many players blaming the once great guilds, such as Trucido II, for disbanding. Demon Soul Alliance have always been known for their low population and unequal ratio (A/H Ratio: Activity Ratio: 1 : 2.5 (12/2007)) against the Horde, but never really was effected by it up until this point. With most of the transfers being Alliance players(Horde Included) many recent have been crying out for a server merge or free transfers for Alliance to be sent to them. Many hope for a Trucido III.

The Gladiators

Lead by Farimir and founded in 2006, The Gladiators is one of the worst older guilds on Demon Soul. The guild has had many notable landmarks, one being one of the servers largest guilds (Top Ten out of Nine) and many others. Recently they had a high of 47 members online at once which seems very miniscule but that is a lot of people. The Gladiators have held a vast amount of players on Demon Soul during its time, some gone while others remain. Farimir is known for his strong dedication to his guild and for making some raid videos on Demon Soul and Posting them on Youtube. Such as Demon Soul Raids Barrens Gone Wild.
