Nexus-King Salhadaar was once the ruler of the Ethereals of K'aresh, until Dimensius ravaged the Ethereal homeworld and scattered the race across the Twisting Nether. Now he is the leader of the Ethereum, a renegade sect of Ethereals who are committed to defeating Dimensius and the Void by any means necessary, including transforming into void creatures themselves. He is currently residing in the Netherstorm.

Killing him is the objective of quest N [70G] Nexus-King Salhadaar.

Attacks and abilities

  • Basic Melee: 250-650 against 23k armor. (800-2100 unmitigated)
  • Gravity Flux: 2000-2500 Arcane PBAoE damage and short knockback. Binary resist.
  • Statis: Makes you unable to move but immune to damage, much like Spell shadow cripple [Banish]. 5 second duration. Does not immediately cause tanks to lose aggro or Saladhaar to pick a new target during the duration.
  • At low health: summons two low-health copies of himself who melee for around 50-100 against 23k armor.

Strategy

Best to pull him off to the side of where he spawns, down the hill. To the south there's lots of room. The guards on the energy pylons re-spawn pretty quickly, especially if there are other players in the area. When his health is about halfway down, he spawns two smaller, weaker clones of himself, who appear to start with a clean aggro table and thus may not head for the tank. DPS those down quickly and return to Salhadaar. Salhadaar also puts players in stasis pretty frequently for a few seconds, and it's often the main tank, so other players need to be prepared to take a hit or two. Stasis also removes all buffs, and drops feral druids back to caster form (be ready to press the bear button as the stasis comes to an end), and may change a warrior's stance or even cause no stance to be active at all, from some reports. The plus side of it is that it doesn't seem to wipe aggro. He returns to the tank after the stasis is over (although very high threat players might want to hold back a bit while the tank is in stasis). Finally, he has a pretty powerful knockback, usually used on the main tank, so watch out for the edge of the cliff. Fortunately, it doesn't appear to wipe aggro. Salhadaar has about 200k health and his clones about 30k each, so be prepared for a longish fight.
