Hand of Light is the Retribution paladin Mastery, improved by the mastery stat. It increases the Holy damage done by the paladin.

Patch changes[]

  • Dragonflight Patch 10.0.7 (2023-03-21): Now provides less Holy damage bonus per point in Mastery.
  • Shadowlands Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Now learned at level 10 (was 78).
  • Battle for Azeroth Patch 8.0.1 (2018-07-17): Reintroduced and redesigned. Now increases all Holy damage.
    Old: Your Crusader Strike, Hammer of the Righteous, Hammer of Wrath, Templar's Verdict, Divine Storm, and their multistrikes deal 17.0% additional damage as Holy damage.
  • Legion Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Removed. Replaced by Ability paladin blessedhands [Mastery: Divine Judgment].
  • Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.2.0 (2015-06-23): Effectiveness reduced by 6%.
  • Warlords of Draenor Hotfix (2014-10-16): Additional damage dealt has been increased by 20%.
  • Mists of Pandaria Hotfix (2013-06-04): Mastery: Hand of Light was dealing less damage than intended. It now deals the proper amount of additional Holy damage.
  • Cataclysm Patch 4.0.6 (2011-02-08): Redesigned: A percentage of the damage done by Templar's Verdict, Crusader Strike, and Divine Storm is done as additional Holy damage. This Mastery now grants a 2.1% increase to Holy damage per mastery, down from 2.5%. Old functionality moved to Spell holy divinepurpose [Divine Purpose].
    Old: Your autoattacks have a 8% chance to grant Hand of Light, causing your next Holy Power ability to consume no Holy Power and to cast as if 3 Holy Power were consumed. Each point of Mastery increases the chance by an additional 1%.
  • Cataclysm Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Added.
