Cold Weather Flying is a spell that is taught by a Cold Weather Flying Trainer for 500. It enables players to use their flying mounts in Northrend. Druids too will require this to use their Flight Form/Swift Flight Form in Northrend. Players have to be level 68 or higher to train this ability. Your character only needs to train Cold Weather Flying once; you do not need to re-train if you acquire it before learning Artisan (300) riding.

Flight Master's License, an ability that is very similar to the Cold Weather Flying is required to fly in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms and was added in Patch 4.0.3a. It is only purchasable with a valid copy of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm and requires Level 60.

Trivia
* The ability to fly in Northrend was initially meant to require a questline, but this was removed. Instead, a character had to be level 77 and offer 1000.

* An alternative was Tome of Cold Weather Flight, which could be bought at level 80 at the same price, but trained much earlier by an alternate character.

* The price has been lowered with 4.0.1 to 500, and now only requires level 68 to train. This price is discounted with respective Northrend factions of Warsong Offensive for Horde players, and Valiance Expedition for Alliance characters.

Patches and hotfixes
*

*

*
