Inner Focus

Inner Focus is a temporary buff that can be acquired from the Discipline talent tree. When activated, it reduces the Mana cost of your next spell by 100% and increases its critical effect chance by 25%.

Functionality

Use

  • Casting: Instant
  • Tree, School: Discipline, Holy
  • Target: Self-only
  • Cooldown: 3 min.
  • Classification: Magic

Notes

  • Requires 10 points in the Discipline tree.
  • Uses the animation of an Arcane spell, however it is indeed Holy. The animation lasts as long as the buff is not consumed.
  • It is not affected by Universal Cooldown.
  • In a previous version, there was a bug where Spell shadow devouringplague [Devouring Plague] did not consume the charge, though it had it mana cost lowered to zero. This has been fixed.
  • It used to be a 21-point talent, this has been changed with the Priest review.

Description

  • Spell description: "When activated, reduces the Mana cost of your next spell by 100% and increases its critical effect chance by 25% if it is capable of a critical effect."
  • Buff description: "The Mana cost of your next spell is reduced by 100%."

Rank Table

  • No ranks available.

Tips and Tactics

  • Is often used in conjunction with Devouring Plague or Prayers, due to their huge mana costs. It is especially useful for Spell holy prayerofhealing02 [Prayer of Healing], as this spell uses both aspects of Inner Focus.
  • Don't activate the spell without using it. Its constant sound can be very annoying to other players.
  • It may be useful to use it early in long fights, to be able to use it more than once.
  • It can be useful when trying to regenerate mana, but still being able cast one free spell without having it interrupt mana regeneration (in case of an emergency for instance.)
  • Don't overlook using this spell on abilities that are unable to crit -- for example, if you're Shadow spec, casting a free Vampiric Touch is a nice way to pile on some mana regeneration, since you're already doing a ton of Shadow damage.
