  • Place a frost trap that creates an ice slick around itself for 30 sec when the first enemy approaches it. All enemies within 10 yards will be slowed by 50% while in the area of effect. Trap will exist for 1 min.

Ice Trap is a hunter ability learned at level 46. It is an AoE slowing trap that affects multiple targets at once. Especially in PvP, this is great for slowing groups of charging enemies or flag carriers and their allies. Like other hunter traps, it can be launched using [Trap Launcher].

Patch changes

  • Mists-Logo-Small Patch 5.1.0 (27-Nov-2012): The snare provided by Ice Trap is now more responsive when enemies enter or leave the area of effect, and its effective area more closely matches the visual effect.
  • Cataclysm-Logo-Small Patch 4.2.0 (28-Jun-2011): Traps now scale with hunter stats such as hit, expertise, spell penetration and attack power as intended.
