Strangely Ironic is an Official alliance mini-iconAlliance guild presently operating on the Proudmoore server, within the online game World of Warcraft.

Formed in 2005, Strangely Ironic remains one of the realms' longest running and active guilds.

Strangely Ironic was founded by Corgi and Kaila on April 11, 2005 following a division with the leader of a guild Nomad Soul. The main reason to form was to group, raid and explore World of Warcraft with their own direction. Whilst high profile guilds such as Sunder, Grandeur, Project Mayhem and Ruined fought it out at the top, Strangely Ironic quickly gained critical mass following the acquisition of talent from similar guilds - Aspect of the Dragon, Immortal Vigilantes, and Ascending Order. Whilst the acquisitions swelled the guild to over five hundred (500) characters, the core group of players began to raid successfully in July 2005 - boosted by the presence of a strong Content Management System to propel the community nature of the guild.

Strangely Ironic finished the vanilla campaign of World of Warcraft ranked 6th on Proudmoore's vanilla progression threads. This rating was attributed the culture of the guild, resulting in success throughout forty (40) player raiding endeavors. This was achieved despite a separation of the guilds' leaders, midway through 2006. Entering the first expansion, the guild commenced strongly and at quick pace, placing in the World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade progression threads. Midway through the expansion, the majority of the guild had been raiding heavily since 2005 and following a shift of real life focus for its core playing group - ceased full time raiding during October 2007 and reverted to a social environment.

In September of 2011 Guild Leadership was transferred to Kransar and is now continuing full time dedicated raiding. The guild is now running strong with progression into MoP 10-man raids.

Strangely Ironic remains part of Proudmoore's folklore, with many moments defining parts of the realms' history. Strangely Ironic were also owners of some of the first legendary items in the game, with both [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker] and [Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros] in their possession.

Strangely Ironic's defeat of Onyxia, Vaelastrasz and Patchwerk remain the guild's defining moments, being some of the first groups in a structured guild on Proudmoore to have accomplished the feat.
