Elysium is a raid guild with the focus on progression.

The guild is located on Earthen Ring one of the original EU roleplay realms.

History

The guild was formed after the breakup of the raidforce Outcasts. While some members of Outcasts joined Might of the Horde a small group created the new raidforce Elysium. Even after the breakup, there are friendly ties between Elysium and Might of the Horde, a fact demonstrated after Elysium's first Lady Vashj kill, when members of Might joined the ventrilo session to congratulate on the first kill. While Outcasts was considered a raidforce that raids for fun, Elysium is a much more dedicated or hardcore type of raidforce planning to compete with the server's top forces.

The Guild name

The guild name is a reference to Greek Mythology, where 'Elysium' is the abode of the blessed after death. This is reflected by the guild motto 'You are in Elysium, you're already dead', a quote taken from the film 'Gladiator'.

Guild rules

Elysium is a hardcore raidforce, the raid charter can be read on the official website. Elysium cleared Serpentshrine Cavern in just one month after setting first foot in it. Members have to be in the guild to be able to join the raidforce. Elysium raids three times a week.

Progress

Elysium has completely cleared Karazhan, Gruul's Lair, Magtheridon's Lair, Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep - the Eye, Hyjal Summit and Black Temple. When Wrath of the Lich King was released, Elysium completed the first three encounters in Sunwell.

In December 2008, Elysium cleared the 25 man version of Naxxramas, Sartharion and Archavon the Stone Watcher. Elysium has completed the Glory of the Ulduar Raider and Glory of the Icecrown Raider (10 man) and has killed the Lich King on 25 man (server rank #5) and is progressing on Icecrown 25 man heroic modes.
