Objectives

Use Flamebringer to defeat Thane Torvald Eriksson and report to Woodsman Drake at Amberpine Lodge.

Description

Now that you've captured the flame-imbued talismans and weakened Voldrune's defenses, we can strike at its leader, Thane Torvald Eriksson.

The thane's favorite mount is an unruly proto-drake he calls Flamebringer. It is kept bound in chains in the western part of Voldrune, but with the talismans, you should be able to control it long enough to use it against the thane.

Once you have Flamebringer under your control, search the tops of the towers of Voldrune for the thane and show him no mercy.

Good work, <name>. I doubt any of the woodsmen would've wanted to take a crack at the proto-drake, but we couldn't afford to let the Dragonflayers build a base of power in Grizzly Hills. If only the Horde was so easily dealt with...

Notes

Flamebringer can be found on the southwest side of Voldrune. Simply talk to him to get on. He has three attacks:

1. A long-range (50yd) fireball (no cooldown).
2. A short-range buffet ability which knocks the Thane down (circa 8 seconds cooldown).
3. A long range Damage over Time fireball (circa 4 seconds cooldown).

Stay relatively close, keep hitting 1, and use 2 and 3 as soon as their cooldowns come up. Thane Torvald Eriksson has a [Volley] attack which hurts both the Proto-Drake you are riding and yourself. Two of these are enough to kill you. Get out of the area hit by the volley as soon as you see it being cast.

Objectives

Hierophant Thayreen at Amberpine Lodge wants you to find Tur Ragepaw near Ursoc's Den and defeat Ursoc with his help. Use the  [Purified Ashes of Vordrassil] on Ursoc's Corpse when you've accomplished this.

Description

It is time, <name>. Take these ashes and look for the furbolg that Kodian spoke of. If he went to seek Ursoc, he will be near his den, north of Grizzlemaw.

You will need his help. You won't be able to defeat Ursoc alone.

Once you've defeated Ursoc, use these ashes to purify his spirit. Only then will we know whether our efforts have been in vain or not.

Ursoc's Den is in the ^[52, 23] area. Talk to  Tur Ragepaw. Ragepaw is a druid, and will shift in to bear, moonkin, or tree form when you're ready to begin. He will stay in the selected form for the entire fight.

On victory:

Spirit of Ursoc says: I thank you all. The druids of old were wise to tear down Vordrassil, for its roots seep deep into the dwelling of an ancient evil.

Spirit of Ursoc says: You know their kind as old gods. Beware Yogg-Saron, the beast with a thousand maws. His evil extends beyond Vordrassil's roots.

The author's handwriting seems vaguely familiar, but you're unable to place it until you discover an entry signed with the name of Brann Bronzebeard.

The back half of the book, containing the most recent entries, has been torn away. Pages litter the battlefield, and it will be impossible to know what Brann discovered here until the book is whole again.

Description

Long ago, powerful druids planted a tree to the northeast of here.

It was called Vordrassil and it was to be a world tree. It is not known why, but after the tree was fully grown, the druids decided it needed to be destroyed.

Corrupting ooze roams those places. Bring me samples of it so we may begin to heal the land.
