The Tauren see little difference between the defilement of Dwarven Archaeologists and the industrial menace of the Venture Company. However, the Exploerer's League, unlike the Venture Company, is searching for clues about the Dwarves' ancient origins, unlike the Goblins, who merely want an easy profit. It has been suggested by Brann Bronzebeard that if the League were to allow Tauren Shamans to watch over the Dwarven digs, and ensure the Dwarves return as much as they take from the land, much of the conflict may be resolved.

The Explorers' League, by mandate from King Magni Bronzebeard, is an organization dedicated to researching the origin of the Dwarven Race. They have many archeological dig-sites in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms. The League's base of operations is located in the Hall of Explorers in Ironforge.

Controversy

The Explorers' League are often accused of defiling land, the most notable being the destruction of a Tauren camp in the Southern Barrens to make way for the Bael Modan dig-site. Bael Modan, meaning "Red Mountain" is aptly named, as it was washed in a sea of crimson with the blood of the Tauren who once lived there. Gann Stonespire is one of the few remaining villagers, who seeks revenge against the League.

In addition to the Barrens dig-site, another controversial outpost in Mulgore has outraged the local Bloodhoof Tauren tribe, who believe the exavations are disrespectful to the Earthmother.

Notable Members

The members of the Explorers' League are spread across the globe at various key digsites and expeditions.
