Curse of Doom, or CoD for short, is a warlock Affliction spell that tags a target to be hit with Shadow damage after 60 seconds. If the target dies from the curse, a Doomguard might be summoned.
Rank | Mana Cost | Damage | Level | Cost |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 300 | 3200 | 60 | 2 34 |
2 | 380 | 4200 | 70 | 7 2 |
Notes
Only one Curse per warlock can be active on any one target.
The chance of summoning a Doomguard if the mob dies is 10%.
This spell receives 200% of your +damage/+shadow gear bonus.
The curse is considered a DoT effect, so is incapable of producing a critical hit.
Talent improvement
[Amplify Curse] and [Shadow Mastery] increase the damage.
[Suppression] reduces the target's chance to resist.
[Grim Reach] increases the range to 33/36 yds.
[Improved Drain Soul] reduces generated threat.
Tips and tactics
Throw this on a Crowd Controlled or Off-tanked mob in a battle to give it time to proc. Be careful not to use this if the other mobs will take more than 60 seconds to kill, however.
You can throw this on a critter and hope for a proc just before many battles.
Try using this just before your main tank charges Darkmaster Gandling in Scholomance.
A warlock can kill many elites solo by using CoD and crowd control.
- Demons & Elementals: Use [Banish] Rank 1 followed by Rank 2. They add up to 50 seconds; CoD is 60.
- Humanoids: Seduce with your Succubus and/or [Fear].
